1961 HARLEY DAVIDSON TOPPER SCOOTER OLDER RESTORATION VERY ORIGINAL WITH TITLE

Up for auction is a 1961 Harley Davidson Topper Model A.  This is an older. ground up restoration.  It appears that the scooter was completely disassembled and restored with original or new old stock parts.  The scooter is complete with no missing parts.  There are numerous scratches . chips and small dings (see pics).  The steel body sections are quite solid and straight with no rust and only light dings.  The fiberglass panels are also quite solid with only a few chips in the gel-coat around the floorboard area (see pics).  The tires look new. but have some cracking.  The wiring appears to be either original or restoration quality replacement.  The speedometer is very nice and shows 498 miles.  I have a clear Indiana title in my name.  The engine numbers match the number on the title. which states that the mileage is original.  The title shows the year as a 1962 (it was quite common to title a motorcycle in the year it was sold).  The engine is free with great compression. I spent an hour or so trying to get the bike started. but it had only intermittent spark. Upon further investigation. I found that the ignition switch had come apart (a new ignition switch will be needed). I have no idea how to bypass the switch. so it is being sold as is.  Everything on top and underneath is quite solid with very minimal or no rust (see pics).  This will make a great scooter to restore or get it running and ride. as is.   A $500 paypal deposit will be required within 48 hours of the auction's end.   The balance will be paid in cash at the time of pickup.   I will accept other payments as long as the funds clear before the bike leaves my shop.  I will be happy to assist in any way I can. however. shipping arrangements and costs are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
