Harley Dyna Bonnevile Salt Flat Racer 1999 FXDLR 100ci./1650cc Record Holder

   If you think you ever wanted to build a race bike for the Bonneville Salt flats. or other top speed events. here is the easy way. As you will spend thousands of $$ and then some more to make a record capable bike. I have owned & operated a H-D after market shop for 30 yrs. . and have been racing that long as well. nbsp;this puppy shits & gits.

    This bike started life out as a 1999 Dyna Low Rider as they have 4 degrees more rake than other models. and the early Twin Cam castings are much better than the present crop of Harleys. I did not do anything to this bike that I couldn't back out of. and you will receive all the stock body work & internals if you win this auction. This bike broke the world's land speed record in 2010 at 152. 793 mph. as you can see by my certificate. That record was beat in 2012 by 20+ mph and a whole shit load of money from S&S Cycle. I decided that I don't have the deep pockets for such a monumental task. such as to convert it to Fuel Injection for more consistence during rapid weather changes.  But this bike would be capable if someone had such ambitions and are willing to work for it.

   The Class I raced in was MPG1650. which translates to Modified Production. Pushrod. Gas 1650cc (aka 100ci). but it can be crossed over to compete in other classes also. I'll try to list out all the basics that I've done to make this sweet handling rocket into what it is. If I don't sell it whole. I will be dismantling it back into a stock bike to sell. It breaks my heart to do that. but if its not racing. its just sitting around waiting for me to sneak out onto an abandoned highway (and possible tickets to follow).

   WHAT'S INSIDE: S&S flywheel assembly. CP 13. 4:1 custom pistons. STD brand raised port casted heads (close to the last ones ever made). custom Head Quarters porting & larger valves & springs. nbsp; gear drive cams. DTT programmable ignition. nbsp;Mikuni 45 carb. D&D borzilla pipe. lock up clutch with a Baker over ratio chain primary. 5spd tranny with Baker reverse pattern shifting. and a stack of sprockets. The front forks are a FXDX hybred with duel Brimbo calipers stopping a R6 17" rim & gummy Avon tire. The rear is a deuce 17" wheel & Avon. The rear set pegs are custom. as are the clip on handlebars. Those are the basics. also innumerable other small tricks. parts & modifications. The wheels in the first picture go with the sale also. as they are 16" & 19" and were replaced due to tire rating speed requirements.

For racing you have to run the event's fuel (110 octane). but You'd be very surprised that if you use just premium it runs quite well. This bike could very easily be made street legal & have good drivability with minor changes.
