Harley Davidson Springer Softail 1340 Evo FLX STS

For sale is this 1997 Harley Davidson Springer Softail  - 1340 evo - FLX STSHi to everyone looking at this listing - this is probably going to be the cheapest Harley Davidson Springer softail in the country !!It belongs to one of my best friends who is also a main member of the local motorbike club. but doesn't use ebay so asked me to list it on his behalf.  only for sale due to purchase of another Harley from a local garage. The bike has only ONE former keeper. who kept it from 1997 to 1999 and my friend has had it since then until now.  It was bought from the local Harley Davidson shop in 1999 (sadly no longer there) so the full history of the bike is known.  First owner was a lady 20 miles away.  The bike has toured every year for the last 15 years and has been regularly ridden every year.  It has a genuine mileage of 92k.  how good must this bike be to want to keep riding that much !!Ok - you have now got up off the floor  - most Harleys are just polished and ridden to the local cafe. this has not been one of them!  Having said that it has had the engine basically rebuilt twice. one at 50k and one at about 70k.  More to keep it up on compression than any major problem.  As you can see. the bike has a full mot all bar a couple of weeks.  The mileage is pretty consistent at 5-6k a year.  In its fifteen years of ownership the bike has had four colours. mainly because in the beginning one of the members owned a paint shop and it became tradition to pick the new colour for the Harley. It has been black. red . yellow and its current grey. the log book states red.  There are literally hundreds of photos of this legendary bike in its different colours in different countries and locations throughout Europe. What can you say?  the bike starts well and rides well and has just toured scotland this year.  There is play in gear change levers and bushes etc. obviously not that it affects the mot. but we are trying to be critical - you are buying a high mileage bike.  The front mudguard is non original. as are the exhausts.  There are obviously marks and defects as you would expect from the age and mileage - having said that. apart from the new tax laws where you have to buy the tax when you buy it. the bike is ready to ride away.  I can confirm the bike is finance and HPI clear.  It comes with (not in the photos) the original dual seat and sissy bar. Alot of people would find it a great winter project. knowing the bike is complete and running and roadworthy. to strip over the winter and replace bushes etc to whatever standard you want. even take the engine out and re-powder coat the frame.
