2008 Harley-Davidson Anniversary FLHX: IronWorks Project Bike

 2008 Anniversary FLHX for saleThis bike. with it's Anniversary Copper & Black paint job (0654 of 3000) is a top of the line. distinctive touring machine that has had substantial improvements made. enhancing reliability. comfort and fun. Owned by a single owner (me) the machine was in a bone stock configuration for it's first two years on the road.   The machine has always been. since day one. used exclusively for long distance road trips & overnight travel. You will notice that on the primary side of the bike. there are sponsor stickers for all the hard [part mfg'ers) on the saddlebag. Do not fear. there was a vinyl sheet that was on the bag- so the stickers WERE stuck to a piece of clear vinyl. not the paint - and that's been removed. Since these pictues were taken I put the stock stereo head unit in. but left the aftermarket speakers in the fairing. I've found the stock headunit to be the best in terms of reliability. You may not have my EZ pass. seen in the images. Also the stock chrome horn has been replaced by a set of deafening Rivco double bell air horns. ya got to have them these days. They will save your life. guaranteed. During the 2010 and 2011 seasons IronWorks Magazine (I was the Editor) used this machine as a platform for demonstrating and installing the very best of what the aftermarket had to offer a long distance tourer who wanted "as stock" reliability and manners. hot rod performance and Barcalounger like comfort. This machine knocks it out of the park in those regards. All of the modifications listed below have been made in the past 18. 00mi. The chassis in total. has 39. 00mi on it. this machine is fully baked. not a thing left to do. The front end is even chromed. The engine is a beast. totally tractable (110HP. 126ft/lbs torque!) - is mechanically quiet and pulls pulls pulls. The entire. high quality package works together flawlessly. The BAKER DD7 is simply amazing. a well done piece of machinery that allows the bike to travel down the road at high rates of speed. while NEVER running out of steam (and Bert Baker himself installed it). The engine/drivetrain combo is exciting. a bit like alchemy - the benefit is greater than the sum of the parts. the machine really is transformed into a sporty. hot rod tourer. the RaceTech custom shocks out back certainly help. Why am i selling it? The answer is simple. I need room in my shop. and just haven't been riding this enough (I've been on my FXR) to warrant its taking up valuable and needed space.
