1976 "Ironhead" Sportster

1976 "Ironhead" Sportster The bike has not been on the road in a few years. I have kept it stored inside and started it every few months. Between work. a sore back and bad knees. and loss of interest. I have no time for the bike. I hate to see the bike sit any longer. All it really needs to be street legal is to rebuild the carb. work out the kinks. inspection. V. I. N Verification and license plates. It has a Bonded Texas Title in my name. What that means if you live in the state of Texas. When you go to have the bike inspected. You will have to have the Inspector do a V. I. N Verification Card and take that back to the DMV and they will issue you a clear Texas Title. If you do not live in Texas. then it may be different in your state. The bike is not stolen. It has been checked twice. Once by a title company and once by the Texas DMV. The bike originally came from Illinois with a Bill of Sale and was sold by Pierce Harley Davidson which is Dekalb Harley Davidson now. I believe? I have the original Pierce HD button on the headlight eyebrow in the extra parts that comes with the bike. The numbers match on the motor and the frame. Most of the major parts are original like the frame. engine. fuel tank and oil tank. The front fender (not installed) is a aftermarket and the rear fender is off a mid '90 Sportster that I had. The seat is a Biltwell. The speedometer I have for it is showing 14. 18 miles. The former owner took it off before he bobbed the bike. cutting all of the lights and gauges off if it. I would assume it has roughly 20k miles on it?

February 2014 -Bullet turn signals both front and rear. -4-1/2" Headlights. -Sparta Taillight. (A couple of scratches from being moved around) -Forward Controls. -Rear Brake Pads -Drag pipes. -Oil filter. -Battery (Oreilly Auto Parts) October 2014 -Progressive Shocks -Speedo and Cable -Hand Controls (Aftermarket) -Battery Box and Strap (Aftermarket) -Oil cap (Aftermarket) -Brake Switch -Air Filer -Points Cover -Inspection Plate -Nikko Horn -Risors -Upper and Lower shock studs.

Additional Details:

-The bike is for locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early. -AS IS. No warranty. -You need to have the Inspection and V. I. N Verification Card done to obtain Texas Title. -The carburetor needs to be rebuilt (Keihin Carb). It is spitting out the exhaust pipes. -Depending on your state requirements. You might need a front brake. It comes with the brake handle (Aftermarket) and the front disk (Not pictured). But it does not come with the front caliper or brake hose. -Leaks oil (Like A Harley should). -I think it might need a clutch. But I was told by three different Techs that the clutch is fine. So you be the judge. -The Kinks worked out. (Bike has been sitting and not rode far since the wiring. oil lines and tires have been installed) Something might work loose after you put a few miles on it. -Paint is rattle canned flat black by me. I am not a painter. but it is good enough for a rat bike. -I installed the forward controls. but I could not reach the pedals. So I flipped them back over to give me that three inches back. So you can flip them back over for your height. I did not trim the brake cable for that reason. The bike does come with the stock brake mid control but does not come with the mid control clutch pedal if you want to change it back.

-$500 cash within 48 hours of close of auction. -I would prefer the remaining balance to be cash or cashiers check before bike is shipped.

As far as shipping. If the "Buy It Now" is used.

-If you are close to the Houston area. I will meet you somewhere SAFE with the bike. At my convenience. -If you are in Texas. Louisiana or Oklahoma I might be willing to meet you halfway. Somewhere SAFE. At my convenience. -If you are further than that you will need to arrange shipping. At your cost. If the shipper has a place here in the Houston area I will take the bike to them. Or meet them a truck stop in the Houston area to pickup the bike. I will pack the spare parts in an additional box and ship them to you separate so the truck driver will loose them during transit.
