HARLEY DAVIDSON 1940 UL FLATHEAD MOTOR - KNUCKLEHEAD, PANHEAD, SHOVELHEAD

HARLEY DAVIDSON 1940 UL FLATHEAD MOTOR.  This is a very nice 1940UL 1311 Motor with a clear Tennessee Title that has an issue date of 1964.  It has 11 fin cylinders.  The pistons are +. 005 thousand and are standard bore 80 cu in.  The Belly Numbers are 40-1359 and they match.  The cylinder walls look good and the bore measures "3. 421".  It has a Date Code of F-9.  It has the screw on type tappet covers.  The left front motor mount has had some repair and appears to be a good job.  The rear cylinder has no visible broken fins or welds.  The casting number is 120-381.  The front cylinder has a number of 120-38.  The front head has 3 partial broken fins and the rear has no broken fins.  Both heads have the single line compression mark.  The lower end is very loose and will need rebuilding.  The cam cover has a small crack at the front upper cam cover screws.  The distributor is a 1949-1961 (single point).  The carburetor is a M-51 Linkert.  This is a very nice original UL motor that I have tried to describe correctly .  Keep in mind it is over 70 years old.  For shipping purposes.
