1979 Harley-Davidson XLS Roadster

Up for sale is a 1979 Harley-Davidson XLS Roadster. First year for the Roadster! This bike runs very well. has gone through a restoration for the most part this last year. All replaced parts were either factory NOS or aftermarket new. depending on availability. Has correct for 79 siamese exhaust. 150mph speedo. both very rare items. All starter and drive parts are new. New battery and cables. New shocks. new rear fender. rear wiring harness. new paint. Has Harley-Davidson tires. both in very good shape. Bike also comes with a tank from an 80 Roadster. which is slightly larger for longer riding. as well as an assortment of extra parts. Has a Screaming Eagle voltage regulator. Accel HP coil installed. as well as a the original and a Mustang seat. Just rebuilt the carburetor in November (has an 1980 sportster carb on it but I have the original 1979 carb).   Primary chain is good and fully adjusted. as I put in a new adjuster shoe one year ago.   Bike also comes with a trickle charger. as well as the original H-D Service and Parts Manuals.   For those familiar with the 79 XLS. this bike uses the XLCR frame and many other characteristics of the very desired factory CR bike. Very fun bike and great conversation piece against the newer H-D's.

The mileage listed is not confirmed. for the speedo is not the original one for the bike (it had an incorrect 120mph speedo on it when I obtained the bike and I installed the correct 150mph speedo)

To be finished. the bike needs:

--New horn (current horn does not work)

--Fix a few oil leaks (if the bike sits for a few days. you will see a few drops of oil on the ground)

--Starter button cover is missing on the handlebar
