1965 Harley Davidson Topper Scooter Model AH (less than 500 made)

Description. Up for sale is a rare 1965 Harley Davidson Topper scooter. Model AH. According to Harley Davidson’s book. "A Legend Begins". The production numbers for the AH model are as follows. 1963 Model AH there was 599 made.  1964 Model AH there was 800 made and 1965 Model AH there were only 500 made with 1965 being the last year of production for any of the Topper scooters. It does run and does have the original title. Will need a little tlc (see items listed below) but does have an older restoration. The good and bad. Items that I know are wrong with it. as you can see in my video. I had it running on July 27th of 2014. But the recoil start only catches every once in a while. so it will need to be looked at. The chain is under the seat and was removed for ease of rolling around. the clutch does work. There are some scratches (see pictures) and the chrome is not perfect (see pictures). For some reason. the throttle handle is backwards so when you pull it back like a normal throttle it slows down and when you release the throttle it speeds up. Don’t know why and will leave it up to the new owner to figure it out. The ignition switch is missing. breather flex hose going from carb to breather box is missing. NEW INFORMATION: I was informed by a knowledgeable topper collector that the body/frame on this scooter is earlier than a 1965. but the title and engine both show it as being a 1965 Model AH. please be aware of this before bidding.

Specifications:  Model: AH 1961 to 1965 Style Master ( 9 hp 1961 to 1965 compression ratio 8:1. 165cc) H signifies "High compression engine". Top speed: up to 60 miles per hour. What gives the H more horse power: High compression squish chamber head. deep breathing big carburetor with intake passage and transfer ports to match (much more fuel gets into the cylinder). larger air intake manifold. larger air intake filter. larger air intake hose and a tuned exhaust system. The AH in 1962 sold retail for: $445. 00 Dealer cost: $333. 75 same price as the AU at the time.

SHIPPING will offer local pickup (Alexandria. Indiana 46001) and store it inside a non-heated garage for up to one year after the auction ends as long as it is paid for in full. I will also ship worldwide. It is up to the buyer to pay all fee’s associated with this including any customs fee’s on their end and mine.   There will be a $50 pallet fee for me to build a strong pallet. If you want a crate built totally around it. it will be an extra $100 for me to build the crate. I will drop it off at R&L carriers (765) 358-4160 or a Fastenal store for freight delivery. but it is up to the buyer to set up the shipping. I will deliver it free of charge to the above two carriers. A skid will be 4ft wide by 6ft long and the crate would be 4ft x 4ft x 6ft long with a weight with skid at 275lbs and weight with crate at 325lbs
