Description

1980 Harley Davidson Electra glide classic  shovelhead with a hard to find original Indian style light on the front fender.

Beautiful strong running 1340 engine. Needs nothing but a new and caring home. My mechanic said it one of the nicest and strongest running 1340 engines he had seen in a long time. Everything works as it should. Starts right up and shifts like as shovelhead should.

THE HISTORY: Completely Documented mileage and much paperwork to prove its history.

I have all 5 titles/ owners names of this motorcycle .  The last names of the previous owners will be omitted.

1) It was sold on May 8. 1980 to Joseph R from Harley Davidson Military sale corp. in Zurich Switzerland.  The bike was first delivered to Cycle craft Co Inc. in Everett MA. and registered in Rochester New Hampshire. The total delivered price was $5. 02. 00. Again. much documentation of this transaction and much more paperwork.

2) Second owner was Robert B.   He traded his 1991 Mercedes Benz to Joseph for his Harley. Robert Registered the bike in Maine. I have his transfer of ownership papers and the bike at that time had 6. 73 miles on it.  There are some service receipts in his folder with mileage numbers as well.

3) The third owner was Michael W who purchased the bike from Robert B. on June 7. 1999. I don't have the first registration but a service receipt that has a mileage odometer reading of 7. 98. The last and only registration I have for Michael has a the date August 1. 2002 with a odometer reading of 8. 00 miles.

4) Michael sold the bike to George H of Maine in June 22. 2004. George was the type of guy who hand wrote all his repairs on paper with dates and work completed. I have those notes.  He replaced many parts but the big one was the top end rebuild at around 15. 00 miles.   He installed new Keith black pistons. Andrew springs and cam. solid lifters and he added an oil cooler at that time. I have all the old parts like the  pistons. cam. rods springs. In 2009 at around 18. 00 miles he replaced the chain and sprockets. handle bars and switches ( which I have all the original parts except the chain and sprockets). In the spring of 2010 he replaced the carb with a CV carb. (I have the original carb. )

5)  In Nov 2011 he sold the bike to Charlie S with 20. 81 miles on it. I fell in love with the bike and convinced Charlie to sell to me at a profit and the rest is history.

6) I have all the repair paperwork for the following:  At 21. 30 miles. I had my mechanic replace the clutch with a Kelvar type clutch.  2) I have replaced the battery with a high output gel type battery. 3)  Replaced main drive gear seal. 4) R&R primary transmission seal.  ). 5) It has self canceling turn signals and hyper brake lights for safety. At 21. 46 miles. I had all the brakes replaced. At 21. 62. I had the front folk seals replaced. It has a true pogo seat installed with new springs. The seat is tied down in the pictures but will spring up if you want it to by removing the 2 heave tie wraps. The seals on the hard bags are in great shape. The paint on the tank and fender are original. I just had the bag and faring painted and hand pin stripped because there were painted before and were not done very well. The paint on the tank and fender are not perfect but great for there age. there are some touchup spots on both. This is not a show bike. but when I take it to the car shows. it gets many compliments. The trip meter works. I had to open the speedo to repair the stem for the trip meter.  I exposed the gears in the speedo and put oil on moving parts to avoid odometer problems. The odometer numbers were NEVER changed. The riding position with the pogo seat and the chrome apes is very comfortable. I would not hesitate to drive this bike cross country. At  55/60 mile per hour is were the sweet spot is on these bikes.

To see the You tube video for the transmission seal replacement. go to you tube and TYPE IN : 4 speed shovelhead Harley transmission leak repair and look for the author. JUST A PILOT. This is what was done on my transmission and not a drop of oil has leaked from the transmission since.

I love my bikes and take care of them as best I can.   I have two other bikes and I have to let this one go. Always garaged. put on a trickle charger. I run synth oil and it also has an electronic ignition.

All the extra parts and history paperwork will come with the bike. I have a 3 ring binder with all paperwork neatly put in chronological order for easy reading.

I will help you and your shipper to get this shipped. nbsp;but you are responsible for the shipping cost and carrier you use.

NOTE: The badge with the cross on the guard rail doesn't come with the bike but I do have a plain Harley badge that will come with it.

Thanks for looking.
