On Make Offer/Buy-it-Now auction is a 1969 Harley Sportster engine ONLY with Pa.  title.   However. the 'paper' has issues in that a previous owner signed it to take possession but then never followed through with the Pa. DMV. So it may take some work to have this issue cleared up with M. V. or you may have to utilize a title agency.

The engine is a 1969 XLH. (electric start only). nbsp;model Sportster with unknown miles on it. I have owned it over 20 years. having picked it up in a buy-out package deal of Harley parts and pieces. As can be seen. there is NO CARBURETOR and THE WRONG IGNITION TIMER.  

As I looked the engine over I notice the intake and exhaust ports are clean; no sign of carbon as well as appearing to have had some port work done. Peering through the spark plug holes. likewise; no carbon. Reading the piston crowns shows the pistons are . 070" oversize which is more or less the last stop for these cylinders. The front cylinder has a broken top fin as can be seen in the photo. Generally. the engine appears to have at least had a top end job. Turning the engine on its' side the cases appear perfect; no welds or repairs of any kind are visible. The cases. cylinders and heads are finished in wrinkle black. Most of the rest of the parts are chromed; side covers. rocker boxes and generator. The chrome looks great on the rocker boxes but less so on the other parts. though still shiny and none of it peeling.  

Although sitting all of these years the engine still turns over with a wrench on the sprocket nut. Back when I first bought it I hooked up an old car battery and it cranked through with ease and the transmission clicks through all four gears. Feel free to ask questions for anything I missed but understand that the engine sat for at least 20 years and I have never run it. therefore I can not promise any sort of condition or performance.
