Honda CB500S 1999 Red - accident damaged still rideable.

Good points: Sprocket drive unit chain and sprockets all about six month old. Stainless steel down pipes. GKN air filter (clean and re-use type). Steel braided brake hoses front and back. Starts first time. Leather seat cover fitted last summer. Scottoiler fitted. Bad points: I came off the bike last month. There was damage to the indicators. fairing. gear selector. top-box. carrier rack hinge. alternator cover and the passenger foot-peg bracket (all on the near-side). The photograph shows the detail of the damage. I have replaced indicators with new. and gear selector with a scrap part. The carrier rack hinge broke so the top-box rocked back and forth. it has been cable tied to the cissy bar as a temporary fix. Tyres have a couple of thousand miles left in them at most.   Note that there was no insurance claim following the accident (it wasn't worth the hassle) so the bike has no history of being written off.   I've been entirely honest; this bike is 16 years old so don't expect showroom condition. I have ridden it since the accident and it seems fine apart from the faring being badly cracked. However. I'm not a mechanic. Inspection welcome at weekends. Call 07756962330.

 I have just realised I have lost the current MOT certificate. This is not a problem nowadays but I don't want to spring this on a buyer at the last minute. The certificate number was 585147534105. If you go to https://www. gov. uk/check-mot-status and type this in with the reg number v548kgp you will see the MOT runs until 1st June. Post offices don't need to see the certificate to tax the bike - they are on the DVLA computer. However. if you have placed a bid before I added this note please feel free to withdraw and no hard feelings. Note added 0900 26-01-15.
