Description

2003 Honda VTR1000F-2 Firestorm. 13 months MOTTo view call Stuart on 01772 311016 (no texts please)The bike is in Chorley. Lancashire - delivery may be possible. please see belowYou are looking at my very tidy Honda Firestorm which I have owned since September 2012. It is Candy Tahitian Blue in colour which is quite rare. It has a sparkle in the paint which looks stunning when the sun's on it. Being the newer model. it has the following significant improvements over the original Firestorm:19 litre tank for fewer fuel stops (older ones have a 16 litre tank)Better fork internalsSmaller indicatorsImproved riding position (lots of owners of older models fitted VFR bars to theirs)Improved clocksHISS immobiliserThe bike is MOT'd until February 2016 and is currently on SORN. The bike is standard apart from the following modifications:Pair of Leo Vince SBK Evo II titanium oval slip on cans (E-marked so road legal). These cans look great and sound amazing. Krieger manual cam chain tensioners - the original Honda automatic ones are prone to failure. You can see the rear one on the photo of the rear shock. 5mm spacer at rear shock top mount - I can remove this in 5 minutes if you want but it really does improves turning in. CBR600 front brake master cylinder and calipers. which is a popular upgrade. I will supply the originals with the bike. Braided front brake hosesScottoilerR&G frame slidersF. Fabbri double bubble dark smoke screenRear huggerCustom seat cover by Bootleg Bike Seats (I found the original one a bit slippy)Heated grips (they're good too. better than the Oxford ones)When I bought the bike it had 7900 miles on it. The recommended service intervals are 8000 miles. I have given it the following services which I have receipts to prove:15 September 2012 Oil & filter (7947 miles)22 September 2012 New spark plugs (8241 miles)9 October 2013 New chain & sprocket (11780 miles)21 March 2014 Oil & filter (13311 miles)22 May 2014 New spark plugs (13726 miles)The chain & sprocket fitted just 2000 miles ago is the DID Xtreme kit which is a higher specification than the OEM parts. The tyres are Pirelli Diablos which have plenty of tread left on them. I had the carbs balanced and set up and the throttle position sensor set in May last year at Ancris Engineering in Wheelton and it runs lovely. It will be obvious to anyone viewing the bike that it has been looked after and always garaged. The engine covers are immaculate. The fork stanchions are clean and free of corrosion and the seals are intact. The rear shock is clean and in good order. The only bad news is that there is a small dent in the left exhaust. It's nothing much and there are no scuffs to the can. I have put a photo of it on this listing. Other than that. the bike is very clean and needs nothing. You would be hard pressed to find a Firestorm nicer than this one. The bike will come with the receipts to prove its servicing. the V5. Current MOT which expires 14 February 2016. MOTs since 2007. owners manual. 2 keys. original brakes inc hoses. It has a colour matched pillion seat cover fitted which comes off easily enough. I have thoroughly enjoyed owning and riding this bike. and there was a time when I swore I would never part with it. The Firestorm is a fantastic big twin which looks good. sounds good and is very easy to ride. The reason I'm selling it is that I have another bike which is too similar to warrant keeping both (Aprilia Falco). I've got a bit of a thing for Italian bikes. which will be obvious to anyone that comes to view this bike when they see my others! If you're genuinely interested in this bike then I would encourage you to view it - call me on 01772 311016. Please don't text as it's a landline and they don't come through. Now the rules: I'm very busy and I value my time. Please don't waste mine and yours by making silly offers. I've described the bike's condition as well as I can and have taken very detailed photos. so if you don't think it's worth the money then please look elsewhere. The bike isn't taxed but if you wish to test ride it then once I have the full money in my pocket then you can do so at your own risk. I am not a trader so I can not offer any insurance for this.  I have a large van and I may be willing to deliver the bike within reason. please ask. I will require cash or a confirmed bank transfer before I let the bike out of my sight. No Paypal as their fees are too high. This bike is also advertised elsewhere so may be removed at any time. ABBA Skylift not included!
