2003 (53) Honda Pan European ABS ST1300-A2. service history – one owner from new

Usual refinements with this year of ST1300: ABS and electric screen. This bike is ex-police. has no previous keepers. has a service history from 13. 28 miles through to 27. 00 miles (eight services listed in history on print out). This bike has been fitted with a new pillion seat. pillion footpegs and grab rail cover to civilian specification. There is a note on the service print out to state that the earlier service history was not available as the police force changed its fleet management software.

Bike was last serviced by the police at 27. 00 miles in April 2007 – it seems to have been in storage since shortly after that time (as it has only covered an additional 528 miles). Due to the time the bike has been off the road we have renewed all the fluids (coolant. oil. brake and clutch fluid) and fitted a new oil filter.

Supplied with two HISS keys. All locks keyed-alike (many ex-police bikes have non-functional locks on panniers - be aware of this if viewing other bikes).

Mechanics Rides great. as you'd expect of a Honda ST1300. starts-up on the button - sounds just like you'd expect of a low mileage bike.

Independent mechanical inspection invited.

MOT This bike will be provided with a new MOT upon purchase.

Cosmetic condition Clean bike. has a few very minor marks. some paint damage to front forks as is common on this model. There are no holes in the fairing (for police equipment). all switches are civilian specification and the civilian left hand locking glove box is fitted (rather than a non-locking radio box fitted to most ex-police bikes).

Extras Honda variable heated grips and tank pad set fitted. There is a DIN-style. 12v charging point on the lower right fairing which links directly to the battery (via a fuse).

Mileage statement The supplying police force has guaranteed the mileage as correct. this is corroborated by the service history.

Viewing the bike You can view the bike in Battersea. London SW11. Viewing is by appointment only. and we are happy to accomodate evening or weekend appointments.

VAT The price indicated for this bike includes VAT. You will receive an invoice for this bike that shows the VAT separately. If you are VAT registered. and intend to use the bike for business purposes. then you may be able to reclaim the VAT element (approximately ?749. 00).

Road tax This bike is currently untaxed. Unfortunately you cannot license this bike at a Post Office. because the tax class needs to be changed from ‘police’ to ‘bicycle’. As the local DVLA offices have been closed your only option now is to send the relevant documents to the DVLA in Swansea – the DVLA indicates that such changes will be processed within seven working days. We will provide the V5C and MOT certificate. you will need to provide an insurance certificate and road fund licence fee. If you intend to keep the bike off the road for some time you may be able to declare a SORN. and just send off the V5C. without taxing and insuring the bike.
