Description

PROS: 14. 00 original miles on a clean NJ title. Runs strong and all the gears hold just as expected - the only weird issue I noticed was that sometimes shifting from first to second would put you in neutral but it wasn't often enough to seem like a real problem. The tires are brand new from last year and have barely been used. According to the last owner. the fork seals / oil were replaced and carbs balanced last Spring. The tank is gorgeous with no dings.  I drove it from mid-state NY to Jersey City last year and around town / NYC since then.  No oil leaks. Oil changed last Fall. Electric start works and kickstarting is very easy. When it's cold. it tends to start on the second or third kick - warm starts are a breeze. New battery installed a week ago and being kept on a tender. I have the original handlebars and rear view mirrors.  CONS: Ok. there are definitely some things to mention: 1) The speedo was correctly recording mileage but not actual road speed. so I purchased and installed a new-old-stock speedo and tach (see pictured).  I included a new tach so that they would match (original's face was faded). Original gauges are included in the sale. 2) There is a crack in the left hand body panel. 3) Also. as I mentioned. there is some rust in some areas near the battery tray as well as some pitting on the chrome at the top end of the forks. Nothing you wouldn't expect from a 40 year old motorcycle and. considering that. pretty impressive. The cafe racer style clubman bars are amazing (and original bars included in sale) but the brake lever could use some TLC as it is the original.  Neutral light worked until this Fall - probably the bulb burned out. MODS: I purchased the bike as is but it has been painted a very attractive brown & cream color scheme. Unassuming engine guards were installed and I like that they do not distract from the overall styling of the bike. The shocks were upgraded to a set of firmer. modern aftermarket ones. The exhaust pipes are stock up until the ends where they split off to harley style tips. one on each side. Note: I no longer have the original pipes. As you can slightly see in the pictures. there is some rust coming up from under the chrome on the tips only. These pipes are louder than the stock CB750 sound and give the bike some presence on the road - yet I found them to be easy to live with and not at all obnoxious. This bike would make the perfect winter project for this riding season! I suggest the new owner give the bike a tune up as it has been sitting for a while and. while it runs. could use some TLC. So. to be clear. this bike is best for someone who wants to work on it and keep this collectible in great shape. No test drives because it is insured under myself. Includes a Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain Disc Lock (value: $150).  Feel free to contact me with questions. Thanks!
