1975 CR250 Elsinore project bike - AHRMA

Description

 For sale is a nice example of a 1975 CR250 Elsinore. As you Honda fans know this is a one year model and for a 40 year old bike I would say its in nice condition. You would be hard pressed to find another in this condition for the price range.  I had two of these at one point. They were identical in condition. I sold the other for 3. 50 so I lowered the price on this one because you will need to tinker with it to get spark. I have had this bike in climate controlled storage for many years and have decided to sell it along with some of my other vintage bikes. This bike did run prior to storing it. When I removed it from storage I went through it prior to listing it. I cleaned the carb . installed a new air filter and spark plug. Prior to starting it I checked for spark and could not see any. I could be a number of things like points need to be cleaned or replaced. bad ground on kill switch from sitting or possibly a bad spark plug coil. If you are mechanically inclined this could be a nice project. Shouldn't take much to get her running again.  I will go into detail below but if you have additional questions do not hesitate to contact me. I would be happy to answer them for you.

Bike details:

Frame - frame is straight and I can not see any bends or crackBodywork - front and back fenders are in nice shape. side panels look excellent for its age. Front number plate is in great shape as well. The tank has a few minor dings but overall I would say nice. Usually they are all banged up. This tank was lined by the previous owner. I know it holds gas fine because it had gas in the tank for a month before I drained it and prepared it for storage. Suspension - Front fork tubes are good. would recommend seals and fresh oil. Shocks are blown and will need to be rebuilt. Shock shafts are in great shape. Motor - motor has very good compression and did run good when I purchased it.  You will need to figure out the spark issue.  The kick starter is original and in nice shape. Exhaust - Pipe is original and is in excellent condition. Silencer is also original and in nice shape but is missing the end cap. Wheels - rims are in pretty nice shape. tires have plenty of life left in them but the rear one is developing some small cracks. Its the old style numbered tires so I am guessing they were probably on the bike for the last 12-15 years. Seat - seat is original and in overall decent shape. There is a small tear on the left side that was repaired by the previous owner. Controls - bars . ontrols and grips look original to me. Bars are scuffed up but you could have them powder coated satin black to look new

SHIPPING:  costs and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I don't mind holding the bike for a while once it is paid for. I realize it takes time to make shipping arrangements and I want to make this a stress free experience for the buyer. I do have a pretty good list of shippers I would be happy to pass on to you.
