1970 Honda Trail CT-70

I purchased this bike in 1995 from the original owner with 1. 73 original miles on it. within the following year (1996) I restored the bike with new paint. chrome. tires. tubes. any necessary nuts and bolts with correct spec's and any necessary parts were replaced with (NOS) New Old Stock parts only. front brake cable. tail pipe assembly. tail light housing and lens. it still has the original seat cover with just a very small tear (1/8 inch) in it. so I felt no need to replace it. if i didn't mention it. you probably wouldn't even know it was there. this bike also comes with the original and very valuable California Black license plate. so hopefully this will spark interest with a buyer in California. About 2 years ago (2013) I added the rear rack which is an aftermarket part.  Bike comes with extra set of HONDA decals. and tool bag. and owners manual. the engine covers were painted silver. the air cleaner was painted red. foot pegs chromed. and some outer rear brake hardware was chromed also. Again this is an adult owned and ridden bike. with only 255 miles since restored in 1995-96. with an average of less than 34 miles a year since new in 1970. Buyer is responsible for local pick up and or shipping. bike is sold " AS-IS " in great running condition. starts every time with only 1-2 kicks. no smoke from exhaust. The tags are currently in no-op status with California DMV To all watchers of this auction. when comparing to other auctions please keep in mind this is truely a 1970 trail bike. prod/date of 10/69 VIN# plates stamped production dates. model years run from September thru August. so a date stamp of 11/70 is actually a 1971 model year not 1970. so be careful. some sellers aren't aware of the model year breakdown.  1969-1971 trail bikes have the chrome buttons that surround the lower portion of the seat. if they aren't there the seat has been changed. the taillights were smaller on the earlier year models. and the large taillights didn't show up on the trail bikes until 1972. watch for correct exhaust pipes and shields also. many get replaced with newer year pipes because most won't pay the cost for NOS parts. this bike is not a hodge-podge of mismatched parts from multiple years of CT-70 parts like others I've seen for sale here and other types of sales formats. bikes that are 3 speed automatics the speedometer will have 3 span marks under the mph with 1-2-3- to show the optimum speed range for each gear. the 4 speed manual bikes CT-70 "H" model designation will have 1-2-3-4- under the mph on the speedometers. I've seen bikes with 4 speed manual trans. and have 3 spd automatic model speedometer. so if any of this is or is'nt important to you. either way at least you will know more about what your looking at. and help you to decide in a possible purchase. thanks for looking.
