Here is my 1981 Honda CB125T Bobber that i am regrettably selling. I have just moved home and its a 7 mile journey on the bypass everyday so i wont get to use it as much as i would like and i could do with the money to do the house up (well. its actually funds towards the build of a garage there. but don't tell the wife) so its now someone else's chance to have fun on it. I bought it as a complete stock bike as you can see in the last photo and over a few months i turned it into a retro Bobber. I am a metal fabricator by trade and restore cars as a hobby so you can be safe in the knowledge that the frame and whole bike has been made well and strong. I wanted to make something like this for a long time so a lot of thought went it to the planning and building of itThe list of things i have done are as follows:Stripped the frame. removed the swing arm and sub-frame and fab'd up a hard-tail that i welded on. shorter fork springs so they sit and 1 1/2" lower. Petrol tank off a DT125 with a road bike petrol tap. Shortened and upturned chrome exhausts with exhaust wrapping to neatening it all up. The exhausts also have baffles in them so they are a bit loud but not overly loud. goes with the image of the bike. 4 older style indicators converted to 6v5" chrome headlight off a Yamaha dragster ( i think). also converted to 6vside mounted brake light and number plate. custom battery. reg/rec box with built in ignition switch. Rear mudguard is a front mudguard of an older CB125. Aluminium carb trumpets with a finer filter inside. custom seat-pan covered in black vinyl with a mountain bike shock absorber for extra comfort. Harley foot pegs that still swing in. i fabricated a new rear brake lever for extra ground clearance. shortened side stand White wall tyres with plenty of tread still onplus loads more. I actually posted on a few forums the build. if you want more info on it then check it out here http://retrorides. proboards. com/post/1977084/threadThe bike does sit very low but im 5'9 and its surprisingly comfortable. I've been using it pretty much any chance i get to commute to work and for fun on the weekends. Due to its size its very easy to cut through the traffic. i pretty much halved the time it took me to get to work. mot and road tax until August next year. insurance for me and my brother is £104 on a classic insurance with all the modifications declared. i will pass on the insurer details to the winner. One thing that has changed is the whitewall tyres have yellowed slightly since i started using it. i will try to post an upto date picture of them this week sometimeIt does turn a lot of heads and stands out from the norm. if you buy it prepare to be stared at. I will be sad to let this go but hopefully it goes to someone who will use it like it wants to be.
