Item Details:This isn't a motorcycle as much as it is a work of historical art. And I love every angle of it. Now for a bit of history:In 1967 Honda brought out the CB750 and took the motorcycle by storm. but how did they do it?It was the first in-line four cylinder. the first to have electric start. and the first. above all. to be mass produced and provide a truly reliable motorcycle. It contended with the British bikes and all of the sudden. people started taking asian motorcycles more seriously. I mean. can you imagine a world where people saw asian motorcycles as second rate? It's strange how time has changed motorcycle perception of the world. And that's what the CB1100 is. It's a perfect and artful throw-back to the original design. It's a beefed up CV750 with modern build and design. It's new. modern. has ABS. and is built with today's technology. but when you look at it. it's as if the world gets a sepia filter or something from an Instagram where the world has tea-stained edges and looks almost vintage. Your rose colored glasses become a piece of wet wax paper and for a moment while you are walk to this bike. the world slows down. It did for me. anyway. Honda make an ancestrial portriat of itself. but put it on two wheels and made it 3D. Modern tech means you get ABS and massive and grippy calipers. It means you get a gear shifter that is of the smoothest on the market. It means you get head lamp that far best the ones of yester-year. And then it was redesigned:An entire facility had to be redesigned to make the first air cooled 4 cylinder in years. WHY?Historical HondaThe fins are increased by 2mm? For better cooling or gas milage? No. So it makes the cooling down *pinging* noise when you stop. Green screen in between speedometer and tachometer? Easy to see? MaybeIt was what was used in the classic CB750. I'm in love with this bike. I don't have the facilities to keep it under cover. but it's such a dime. Some one treat this with love.
