1964 HONDA CL72 Scrambler 250 Type2 FAST & Amazing Garage Find!Running Condition

RARE and VERY UNIQUE!!!1964 HONDA CL 72 SCRAMBLER 250 Type 2 with 360 degree Crankshaft Engine and Special Gear Ratios!!In Amazing Complete Condition with Impeccable Mechanical Service Maintained By The Original owner!!The Type 2 engine has a little different power curve due to the crankshaft configuration. Also the 2nd and 3rd gear ratios are unique to just this one model. Parts to make a Type 2 engine are different crankshaft. left camshaft. points plate and point cam from a Dream. special coil and condenser. Carburetors are also re-jetted for this engine setup. too. CL72 64 450047 decodes as 1964 model. The inserted 64 is a domestic bike trait. The first digit is also a 4. which was used in 1964. but they also used a CL72-11XXXX series of numbers in 1964. but I think just for the US models. The 5 in the serial number denotes a Type 2 engine installation. . and it was the 47th bike built that year in that configuration. Based upon the serial number. this is a domestic TYPE 2 engine (the points cover readsType 2) bike which has a single set of points and dual lead coil. They are unique editions here in the US. - mrhonda-sandiego Just Last week. we installed a new Interstate battery and NGK spark plugs. checked the bike all over and it started right up! We took it for a Ride and were amazed how it operates after being dry stored for all these years!Since then. it has started on the first or second kick. cold with the choke on. Everything seems to operate as it should. but should be evaluated by a professional before a cross country trip!!This bike has a lot of power and The sound from the original exhaust and baffles is SWEET!!The Horn. Tail/Brake lights all work. I haven't been able to turn on the Headlight. it may be the bulb. The bike of course has a Clear Title!This Scrambler turns heads and you immediately hear "I love the sound of that bike" and "I used to have one of those" immediately followed by "I should have never sold it!"The Tires are Good and are original Style for the year of bike. I have not detailed this bike. When we brought it home. we gave it a quick wash and so the Original PATINA remains. The front Aluminum fender looks to have been repainted at some point. and the seat should be recovered. There are some scratches on the paint. The outside plastics on some of the cables are cracked .
