Honda XL650V Transalp 06 reg. Very Clean

2006 HONDA XL650 V6 TRANSALP

I`m placing the bike up for auction as I need to put the money towards my work. This is the second of two XL650 Transalp`s I`ve had the pleasure of owning. it`s reliable. comfortable and great on fuel (55mpg regularly). I`ve used it for commuting & pleasure riding since buying the bike from Sheldon M /Cs in Dec 2013.

Bike features – First registered September 2006. MOT till Dec 2015.

1. Oxford Heated grips.

2. Main stand.

3. Fenda Extenda

4. Givi Top Case with 2 x keys (lockable & detachable using internal quick release fixer) ample room for full face helmet & gloves). this is mounted on Givi mounting plate.

HPI clear. Very clean condition throughout.  3 previous owners.

5. New chain (Dec 2014). good sprockets. brake pads. dash /headlight (H7 high intensity bulb) /utility bulbs etc.

Clear screen.

6.  `Fuel` End Can (removable baffle). giving that rasping engine note from the V – Twin motor. Also. OEM tool kit included. I`m also prepared to include a new set of brake pads and clutch cable I`ve had ready as spares.

. Motorcycle News says - The Honda XL650V Transalp’s equipment level is fair – you do get an ignition-based immobiliser. but the bashplate’s plastic not metal and a centrestand’s only available as a factory option. Ideally you’d want the heated grips. taller screen and hard luggage in your deal.

The bodywork is in very good condition. all the plastic clips are in place and threaded fasteners `copper greased` in good order. (no stripped threads or rounded off hex heads).

. The advert details pretty much covers what MCN are banging their gums about. and for this attractive package a buy-it-now price of ?2150!!!

At 23. 00 miles the bike`s below average mileage. this is clearly tracked via past MOT's. Also present; owners manuals + Haynes manual. Spare OEM ign key.

Stamped. service record book is present. Since I am an experienced bike mechanic. I`ve carefully serviced & maintained all bikes I`ve owned & this one is no exception.

At time of purchase. as part of negotiations with Sheldon M /Cs they did a full engine /oil service including carbs balanced. valve clearences & fresh oil in the front forks and fitted new fork gaiters. Also fitted; a new rear brake disc & upgrade steering head races to tapered needle roller bearings.

In preparation for this auction I gave the bike a degrease /jet wash & service so it needs nothing doing to it. fuel up and away!

Q – How many bikes /fork legs have you seen with the OEM lacquer riddled with salt water effect /looking really naff?. You will notice from the images with my advert that I have had the front fork bottom yokes sand blasted - this has eliminated all that salt water crappy worm trails that get under the OEM lacquered finish. just occasionally paint brush / degreaser to maintain the look!

I`ve endeavoured to post a good selection of images to underpin my advert. showing the bike from all angles. The bike only has a light marking on the paintwork and mark on the inside of the pillion hand rails. Purchaser - I would like to agree with you that a ?100 deposit be made to my account through PAYPAL then the balance would be paid in cash upon collection (or delivery - this can be arranged subject to mileage) rather than through PAYPAL.

The bike`s advertised elsewhere so I may need to end the auction early if it sells there.

Test ride

If you`re seriously interested in the bike & choose to take a test ride I will ask you to have with you photo ID. current bike certificate of insurance and I would also ask to hold these documents plus a refundable deposit in my possession whist you`re out on test .

Please bear in mind; If you crash it during the test ride then you commit to buy it!
