Description

Honda CX500I have recently bought a job lot of bikes from a chop/custom/trike builder that have been in a dry lock up for a good few years. this is one of them (please see my other item's for similar treasure!) it has no keys or V5 logbook it is however HPI Clear ie not stolen or written off and is still on the DVLA database so applying for a logbook will be simple and straightforward using DVLA form V62. then you could either take the ignition switch to a locksmith and get them to cut a key to fit (usually pay ?20-30 for this but have heard of others being charged a small fortune so shop around!) or replace the complete lock set which usually costs around the same on here or try wemoto. com who are also very good. As you can see it's a proper rat bike. a combination of matt black paint. rust. dirt. dents. dings and scratches. Showing 36000odd miles which given that it's only had 2 owners from new could well be genuine and if so its pretty low mileage for the good old CX! It's pretty much complete with the exception of a side panel. clutch cable and the tail light which I pinched for my chop project. The bike is as you would expect for something that has been stood a while. the tyre's are flat. the brakes are binding and obviously it doesn't run. the engine does turn over fine. All in all its a ratty old CX probably not one to restore but it should make a good basis for a custom bike or trike whether is be a chopper. bobber. cafe racer. flat tracker. Brat style etc the choice is yours and the sky is the limit as they say! I was thinking of getting it running. fitting some knobblies and entering Sideburn 's DIRT QUAKE (look it up on google it looks awesome) think that's about everything. any questions feel free to ask. best of luck and happy bidding.
