Selling my nice 1982 Honda CX500 customised into currently a flat tracker style but easily converted to caf? racer style with "clip on" or "ace" bars. MOT is till 14th Aug 2015 and it has 46823 on its speedo which seems correct as its a very nice sounding and pulling CX as it should be. I have just rode it 240 miles from Yorkshire to Surrey with no problems on the trip.

It has had its rear frame cut down and welded up by a trike builder so has been done well and converted to a single caf? racer seat which looks great with the original Honda rear light retained.
In addition it has had the following mods from a standard CX500. Standard air/battery box dumped and a fabricated alloy battery box and cone air filters added. New chrome back shocks. Chrome headlight conversion with holed brackets. Chrome wide dragbars for a ride that isn't hunched like with clipons. Motrax mirrors. front slip on chrome fork coil springs (for looks). Braided brake hoses. Mini Indicators. Custom made alloy mount for speedo and warning lights. Recent new battery. tyres. horn. Rare period marshall 2into1 exhaust which gives a great v-twin noise without being overly loud.
All in all its a great conversion with all the hard work done. welded and fabricated. I bought this bike to get mint as a show bike project (check out the other mint CX500 cafes on ebay!). It will make a nice bike to ride as is or a great start for a high quality custom build. but a flat purchase means I need to be boring and put the money into a combi boiler etc.
My only dislikes as is. the green tank and seat spray painting and prep isn't of a good standard and I was going to redo these in a period metallic. also there's a few little bits of messy wiring to tidy. also the speedo cable has just gave out so I'll try to get one sorted this week. please bear in mind its a 33 year old bike if you bid without viewing.
