Here we have a 1986 Honda Goldwing Interstate in reasonable shape offered at NO RESERVE!! This was my personal bike for the past few years. The bike always ran well. started easily and performed nicely. It is due for its normal bit of TLC but still has a lot of life left in it. Mechanically the bike is sound. engine is strong. quiet and smooth. It is due for general service and at the end of the last season I rode it regularly (2013) it developed an intermittent rattle from the left valve cover that the Goldwing gurus tell me indicates the need for a valve collar adjustment. The front tire was replaced when I started riding it and still has good life left in it. The front brakes. fork seals and bushings were also done at that time and everything else checked. Transmission. clutch. controls. brakes. wheels. seat etc are all in good condition. The rear tire is slick. dangerous and no good. It should be replaced immediately before the bike is ridden. The bike looks OK but the original paint is badly faded and there are a number of blemishes. There are a few broken plastic bits here and there and the clear is cracked and blistering all over. I haven't really looked recently for crash damage but don't remember noting the bike ever having been down hard. I bounced it off a cow one summer and tweaked the right rear saddlebag guard back into the bag and cracked both the bag and lid. They still seal up (even reasonably dry) but require some fiddling with. The left bag and trunk are in good shape. All of the locks and such still work. The sight glass for the clutch master gave up with age and I epoxied a nickel over it to stop the leak. One should make a more permanent repair there or keep spare epoxy. At its heart this is a very sound machine that needs a very small bit of tinkering but with the exception of the rear tire this bike can be ridden home anywhere on dry land. It blows a bit of smoke on start-up occasionally but doesn't guzzle any fluids. doesn't overheat or any other detrimental habits. I have bought a new bike and no longer need this one and its just way too good a bike to let rot away. Due too for a good thorough cleaning. Thanks and Happy Bidding!! I am relisting this bike due to a low-life bidder. I do welcome and encourage new bidders but have to set bidder restrictions on this auction in order to eliminate one lowlife who is making a game of sabatoging my auctions. Low feedback bidders just need to contact me with an e-mail containing your phone number from a legit E-bay account. As soon as I can verify you are legit I will add you to the good bidders list. Sorry for any inconvenience but unfortunately there are many people in this world lacking moral value and we must protect ourselves from them. Thanks!
