1973 HONDA CL70 CL 70 K3 227 ORIGINAL MILES MUSEUM & INVESTMENT QUALITY VINTAGE

This 1973 “LAST YEAR ONLY” Candy Sapphire Blue / Special Silver Metallic Honda CL70 K3 series Scrambler was recently removed from a retired Honda Dealer’s personal collection. If you are looking for perhaps one of the lowest mileage vintage Honda Scramblers in existence this could very well be it. Displaying only 227 original miles the overall condition of this Honda is remarkable considering it is literally 43 years old as the production date relevant to the steering neck data tag is 3 / 72. The original front and rear NITTO date coded tires (front BDF122. rear BDB103) are clear testaments to the accuracy of the mileage as they still display the “webbing” between the center tread design as clearly shown in the images presented. Both tires have some minor weather checking but appear to have “never” been removed from the rims since they left the Honda Factory in Japan so many years ago. You simply would not believe the condition of the underside of the fenders as they are truly IMMACULATE. again as the images show. All the correct 8 headed bolts and corresponding fasteners are factory correct as they are all original to the bike. This Honda has been professionally and methodically detailed with an emphasis placed on correctness and originality. All of the black components were refinished in the correct shade / gloss plus the lower front fork legs and left flywheel cover were also refinished accurately as well. A New Old Stock fuel tank was obtained as the original had some interior deterioration from years of storage. the NOS unit has a very small dent on the RH front leading edge which is evident in the images of that area and could easily be removed by any competent paintless dent removal specialist as no paint in that area has been scratched. just an impression. All of the factory applied original safety warning and information stickers are still intact and pretty much appear “as new”. The overall patina of the bike is very impressive as this CL70 literally looks like “BRAND NEW”. The machine was last ran in the fall of 2014 and it literally runs. rides. shifts. and “feels” just like you rode it off of a new Honda Dealer’s showroom floor! It currently has no fuel in the tank and a new correct Yuasa battery is unfilled due to the fact it was displayed in a carpeted residential basement. Included with purchase is the original factory Honda Dealer sales brochure. the original owners manual. the original tool kit (the tools look like New Old Stock). all three original issued keys. the Dealer supplied touch up paint which is still fluid. and a free and clear Missouri title. This bike is not perfect. they were not perfect when they were new. however for a bike (or anything) for this circa it is EXTREMELY NICE. A true Time Capsule this vintage Honda will do nothing but appreciate. This was the last year they produced the Honda CL70. the K3 like offered here was clearly and unmistakably the most unique due to the extreme variation of parts and design from the K0.
