Honda VFR750FL - 1991 - 31,341 miles - Black - Excellent Condition

A totally standard VFR750FL. first registered 16th August 1990. six months MoT (until 18th March 2014). which has covered just over 31. 00 miles. The bike is completely standard. except for the seat. which the previous owner re-covered in red. I bought the bike in April this year. and it has performed faultlessly on several UK tours. The bike was apparently serviced. then put away in storage in June 2006 by a previous owner (in the back of his study. apparently).  This is supported by the MoT. which shows the bike was previously MoT'd at that time (with a mileage of 29191).  The chap I bought it from had spotted it sitting under a blanket (attached to an Optimate) when doing some building work. and bought it from the previous owner. completing basic recommissioning (which comprised a change of fluids. along with some work to get the carbs professionally cleaned). Since buying it. I've put in new brake pads and changed the fork oil.  I also stripped the fairing off and greased/oiled/WD40'd everything that might have needed it. though in practice it was spotless underneath the bodywork. Overall. the condition is very good. with little if any corrosion. and just the usual fine scratches in the paintwork.  There are two minor issues: the first is with the fairing - specifically. one lug has as some point snapped off the left centre fairing panel and. when repaired. not been positioned 100% accurately. resulting in a slight ill-fitting (the fairing is. however. solid and unaffected by this); the second is with the rear wheel. where some flaking paint has been touched in (not too noticeable. but still something to maybe sort out long-term). One key point - the bike was reportedly fitted with a brand new original Honda exhaust system prior to being mothballed in 2006.  I've looked over it end-to-end and can confirm it is rock-solid and only shows mild surface corrosion in a few places (primarily the front pipes). which seems to bear out the story. Both tyres are fairly worn. though still legal.  I'd estimate the rear has probably about 1000 miles left in it. with a little more for the front. Otherwise. this is a superb looking bike. which has clearly been well looked after by its previous owners (and me). and should give years of service with basic maintenance.
