Description

Up for sale is a 1974 Honda CB550 with a clear/clean Minnesota title in my name ready to transfer over to you. I bought this bike from a neighbor who had it sitting in his shed untouched for the last 30 years. As you can see from the pictures it's been heavily modified. The biggest changes are the 2008 GSXR front suspension / wheel & brakes and the 1993 GSXR rear swingarm / wheel & brakes and a 2008 rear shock off a CBR. Old school "Mac" brand 4 into 2 exhaust. Recent oil change on an engine that's been cleaned up and repainted. kickstart only. nbsp;carbs disassembled and completely cleaned. nbsp;old school "Mac" brand exhaust. The frame was sandblasted and repainted. all tabs and unnecessary items removed. modded subframe and custom seat. gsxr rearsets. custom headlight mounts. "Domino" brand race throttle. nbsp;new tail light. Garmin Nuvi GPS acts as the speedo (no tach but could easily be added). custom adjustable peep mirror. new clutch and brake levers. new handlebar clamps and Renthal brand "fatbar" handlebars. a small pan under the seat holds a small but very high grade "Antigravity" brand 12v battery. Brand new igniton switch with 2 keys. It has an upgraded single voltage regulator / rectifier unit. The wiring has been highly simplified with only a single beam headlight along with a tail light and brake light. one single fuse is easily accessable. No blinkers or horn so you will have to use your hand signals. Because of this there is a lack of gadgets all over the handlebars for a cleaner look. Lightning holes have been drilled in the sprocket cover. headlight mounts and the rearsets to add some flare. The emblems / badges on the tank are original and not fakes. The front and rear sprockets have been offset to compensate for the wide rear wheel. NO LEAKS anywhere that I can see. I've put about 100 miles on it since I've built it and haven't had any major running / driving issues. I am a skilled fabricator by trade so you can rest assured all the welding and modifications were performed very well. You may have to copy and paste the links of the videos to your browser. Video of it running: https://youtu. be/vMywKcDnuFIVideo of it driving: https://youtu. be/5DWhHKF4Vy4The tank isn't perfect. the top is a bit faded and paint is flaking off on the top in small places (see pictures). I like the original paint so I didn't mess with it. The engine seems to have a bit of a tick at idle but I've been told that this is probably due to the carbs needing to be synced. It does kick over and start very easy but it seems to take awhile to warm up. There is some popping on deceleration. both this and the longer warm up time tells me the bike could stand to be jetted a bit richer. When I first started riding it the clutch seemed grabby but in the last 30 miles or so it's seemed to smooth out. I think from sitting so long that it needed to loosen up. Other than those couple things I can't really think of anything wrong with it. I encourage any interested parties to come and inspect the bike prior to placing a bid. I won't allow anyone to take it for a spin without an agreed amount of cash in my hand. Shipping this bike is up to the buyer. That means that you find a shipping company and handle all the details of this yourself. Once you select a shipping company and they contact me I will assist the movers by making the bike available for pickup at a date / time the movers and I agree upon. I will not release the bike and title to the shipping company until I am paid in full. I prefer email for communication and will be in close contact with you throughout this process to ensure a smoooooth transaction. I require $250 down payment through paypal within 24 hours of auction close. The balance of the auction must be paid by certified bank check or cashiers check sent to me by certified mail. I will not accept paypal payment for the balance of this auction. not even if it's sent through paypal as a gift so please don't ask. I will accept cash if you wish to pick up the bike in person. If you want me to hold it longer than 2 weeks after auction end please work out those details with me before you bid. Please ask all questions prior to bidding. I don't offer any sort of waranty and the bike is sold in "as is" condition. I've described it to the best of my ability. there may be things that I've missed that I can't be held responsible for. It is afterall a 41 year old machine.
