I got this bike from the Denver area about 4 years ago in trade towards a CBX. it had been in dry storage for a long time & a 1 owner bike until 3-14-2011. the carbs needed serviced etc. I couldn't believe how clean the bike is! There was absolutely ZERO rust on ANY of the hardware or frame & it's totally original paint except I painted the black gas tank after I cleaned it out. I restore high-end mopar musclecars for a living & have had many. many 1970's big c. c. japanese bikes over the years. I couldn't stop myself from taking the GL1000 down to the engine sitting in the frame & painstakingly cleaned. lubed. serviced. had the carbs professionally kitted & synced. cleaned electrical connections. new water pump. new thermostat & flushed radiator. new fork seals. new fuel pump. new tires. new battery etc. . EVERYTHING IS ORIGINAL TO THE BIKE except for basically the fuel line to the fuel pump. the black paint on the gas tank. the tires & the n. o. s. water pump & fuel pump. All original cables. levers. grips. lenses etc. etc. It runs & performs like new!! The clutch works great. the tranny works perfect. it has surprising power. There is one small ding on the right side air scoop around the radiator & a very small scratch on a lower side cover. These are getting very collectible & the best bike to collect is a nice. presentable survivor. Check my feedback & invest with confidence! Email or call with any questions. Thank you- Paul 402-202-2263 The bike is in Lincoln. Ne. right on I-80. I may be able to provide enclosed transport or I'd be happy to arrange truckiing for you!On Apr-19-15 at 10:56:30 PDT. seller added the following information:I just had one person ask if the downpipes coming from the cylinders are tarnished? I just added a closeup of the chrome heat shields and they are very nice but have a few water-spots. a couple bugs from last fall & a couple VERY minor scuffs. the grey color that shows in one of the pictures is a reflection of the painted garage floor. The above pictures do not do the bike justice. I must be a little shaky?
