1969 Honda cb750 VIN: CB750-1011239 ENGINE CB750E-1011160 BUILD DATE: 10/69This is a one owner bike. bought by the current registered keeper in 1970 in Ponca city. OK i had plans to completely restore this bike to a show piece but circumstances have changed and I could do with the time towards other projects and I hate to see it sit and not enjoyed. The bike right now is a very good condition rider. it has been painted in it's life but in the original paint scheme. there is some cracking on one side cover and airbox as is common on these old bikes. The carbs were just cleaned and tuned and the bike is very easy starting and runs. shifts. rides very smooth. Always start very quick from cold with just a little choke. It has all original parts. except the carbs were replaced at the dealer for later style carbs. this was common on these bikes because the 4 cable original set up were tricky. But the bike still has the correct front fender with double cuts. wrinkle tank. early gauges. correct rear wheel and chain guard. correct front caliper and it has the correct early oil tank. It is missing the grab rail which you would use to get it on the centre stand as it had a sissy bar installed and the grab bar was lost. the bike also had high rise bars fitted at some point and so the front brake top hose is longer and the clutch cable. If the buy it now price is met I would be happy to replace these with correct length parts. The best part about this bike is the ever important original pipes. I fitted NOS HM300 pipes correct for this vintage that I obtained. that are as close to perfect as you will see bolted on a bike. they sound fantastic. much better than 341's and are what I will miss most about the bike. The seat is a reproduction. but I think it's one of the best out there from Machiv motors. I have tried to list defects on the bike but I will try to itemize all faults i have recognized in the interest of being completely honest with someone who might want to purchase without viewing the bike:-cracks in side covers and airbox-incorrect brake line and clutch cable-carbs from later bike (dealer retrofit) -chrome speedo ring is slightly misshapen -kickstart recoil spring doesn't work. the kickstart works fine but doesn't spring back (electric start works fine)-ADDED 04/20/15 - I noticed a bent fin on the right side of the motor and some small scuffing (pictured)If I can think of anyone else I will be sure to update the listing. The asking price for the bike is mainly due to the pipes. and I would be tempted by an offer for the bike without pipes at around 3k less. as I know it will be hard to get another set should I happen across another bike in the future when my circumstances permit a restoration. This is for sure a chance to own a very special Honda. if I don't recieve what I consider to be reasonable offers. I will put the bike back into storage until such a time that I can put the time into it for restoration and make myself a very nice piece of motorcycle history. I am happy to hold the bike until the winning bidder can collect or organize shipping. but will need a deposit paid within 48 hours of the auction end. I'm also happy to deal with people overseas and will share contact details with any seriously interested parties who want to talk on the phone about the bike or sale details.
