1983 Honda CX650C Custom FOR SALE. This bike is in Good to Excellent condition and ready to ride! It is currently PA inspected. and insured. I try to ride it every day the weather allows. The odometer shows about 22. 43. and it will continue to climb until sold. The new rear tire has less than 1500 miles on it. and the new front tire has less than 300. This is a unique bike. and quite collectible as it was only made one year. It is called a 650. but it is really 674 CC. and has 65 HP. It is water cooled. and has shaft drive. The four original rubber mounts for the turn signals have all been replaced with NOS rubber. I am currently running synthetic oil in it. and will change the oil and filter immediately prior to sale. It gets about 45 mpg in combination city/highway riding. I have owned this bike for just over two years. and purchased it from the original owner. The bike has been garaged since new. It does show wear as any 32 year old motorcycle would. but there are no major dents. and only tiny paint chips and scratches in the original paint. The front fender has one tiny dent on top that looks like something fell on it. Both the battery cover and the air filter cover(cheap plastic) are broken. so two replacements will be included which will need paint. I kind of hate to get sell this bike as it is somewhat of a collectible. and it is fun to ride but my wife has given me the green light to get something bigger. and I really don't have garage space for another one. so this one must go! Below is some information I gathered from Wikipedia. and a classic motorcycle website that give some specifications and history of the Honda CX650C: The Honda CX series motorcycles. including the GL500 and GL650 variants. were developed and released by Honda in the late 1970s. with production ending in most markets by the mid 1980s. The design included innovative features and technologies that were uncommon or unused at the time such as liquid cooling. electric-only starting. low-maintenance shaft drive. modular wheels. and dual CV-type carburetors that were tuned for reduced emissions. The electronic ignition system was separate from the rest of the electrical system. enabling the motorcycle to be push-started and ridden in case of a total electrical system failure. The CX650 Custom was a one year model produced in 1983 for the US market. Like other CX customs. especially the CX400C designed for Asia-Pacific. this model was a cruiser. The frame is completely different. and the styling was marketed to accommodate the American desire for the low stretched look of American cruiser bikes. Its semi chopped fork. tear drop tank. low seat and truncated exhaust gave it a very rakish look. However. it was very similar in styling and price range to the 750 Shadow and Honda elected to have only one cruiser bike in that class. thus the reason for its short model life.
