1980 Honda CM400 T

This is a 1980 Honda CM400T given to me by my father when I was 16 years old. E-bay only gives me the option to list it as a "CB" but I'm fairly certain it is a "CM" model. I have owned it for the last 20 years and it only has 10288 original miles on it. It is usually ridden 2 or 3 times a year at most sometimes sitting for several years in between. It's a GREAT bike especially for short spins around the lake or trips around town. It would also make a great starter bike for anyone learning to ride. The 400 twin has plenty of power for riders of all sizes but is still tame enough for beginners. It would also make a cool "Cafe Racer" if someone wanted to do that.This bike is completely original and has never had any motor or transmission issues. The only problem I've EVER had with this bike is that the carburetors get gummed up after it sits for a few years. If you ride it a few times a year it doesn't happen but it has currently been sitting for 3 years. After it sits I have to take apart the carbs and spray them out with cleaner then it runs really well again. Right now is one of those times and I just don't feel like messing with it. It still currently starts right up and you can ride it like it is but it's running pretty rough and doesn't rev out like it should. This needs to be addressed before riding it. Again this happens after it sits for a few years but cleaning the carbs has ALWAYS fixed it in the past. With clean carbs it runs extremely well.It has a brand new battery but will need a new back tire soon. Several years ago the gas tank appeared like it was getting a little rusty on the inside so I had a local shop repair it for me. I believe they "lined" it with something but I don't remember the details. That was about 10 years ago and it looks like it might need that done again.Overall this is a really great bike and it has always been very well taken care of. I'm am cleaning out my garage and am selling all of my bikes.
