1968 HONDA 305 DREAM CA77 - FULLY RESTORED TO ORIGINAL - BEAUTIFUL!

This 1968 Honda 305 Dream was totally restored. I do this as a hobby and spend hundreds of hours restoring motorcycles and cars as a labor of love. I am a concours judge and as such a nut for originality.

I started with a very complete original bike that had not been run for years. I totally disassembled the bike and removed the paint from all body parts. I had the gas tank cleaned and sealed. All bare metal was then painted with epoxy primer and sent out for paint. Paint was professionally done in base/clear. Although this is not the original type of paint that was used in 1968 I thought for ease in care it would be a good option.

• Repacked fork bearings
• Buffed hubs
• Re-laced wheels with new spokes
• Trued wheels
• Packed wheel bearings
• Disassembled engine

• Cleaned and beadblasted all aluminum engine components
• Painted all parts that were painted from factory
• Honed cylinders
• Lapped valves
• Replaced piston rings
• Replaced cam chain
• Reassembled with new gaskets and seals
• Replaced points spark plugs spark plug caps and condenser
• Rebuilt carburetor
• Replaced clutch front brake speedometer and throttle cables

• Speedometer rebuilt and set to 0 miles
• Replaced clutch and brake levers
• Replaced handgrips
• Detailed seat pan and recovered seat
• Replaced battery
• Replaced fuel lines
• Rebuilt fuel petcock
• Installed new tubes rim strips and proper Firestone 3.25 x 16 whitewall tires
• Replaced tank badges
• Replaced mirrors
• New battery

Please note that the mufflers are original and not perfect. They have a few places where the plating is off now has surface rust. They clean up nicely but have not been replated.

I have only put 24 "shake down" miles on this bike since the completion of the restoration. It starts quickly via kick starter or electric starter and rides very well.
