Description

This is a 1988 Honda Hawk GT (Model # NT650). It has been refurbished to good operational status with new or like new parts. It is an original California bike that has been de-smogged. It runs and rides great. It's a very enjoyable bike and is certainly popular with the DIY segment and shares great forum support. The color has akin to a Cinnamon color but it is not the original paint color. Originally it would have been painted candy flair blue but the previous owner elected to use custom color and graphics. It's a survivor bike with around 71000 miles but I have had to replace the speedometer/odometer unit due to excessive wear. The bike has relatively new tires and I have gone through all the mechanical items to ensure it is running well and safe to ride. The engine runs strong really strong even in spite of the stock exhaustHere is a work list of what has been done to the bike:

  • CBR 600 F2 front forks wheel and brakes (all newly rebuilt with new pads and fresh fluid)
  • Clean and shine of rear sets and levers (levers were repainted with Krylon chrome/aluminum and I shot about 4 layers of clear on them to fend of dings)
  • Same treatment for the lower fork tubes in regards to paint
  • Cleaned and degreased frame and motor as well as any other areas it was built up
  • New CB900F Hornet styled headlight (clear lens slightly different shaped bucket)
  • New front and rear LED blinkers (fronts have Daytime running lights and rear's have integrated brake lights)
  • Updated LED flasher module (so no ballast resisters are necessary to run LED's)
  • New 120/70/17 Front and 160/60/17 Rear - Shinko Raven 009 (about 1000 miles on them now showing little wear)
  • Original Green wheels (no idea who picked the color) were painted with matt finish Plasti-dip (that was an experiment they turned out ok. Not sure how long it will last but it looks good)
  • Rear brake line routed through swingarm all old fluid flushed out and caliper rebuilt.
  • Rear eccentric inspected for wear it was all really in great shape just dirty so I cleaned it extensively.
  • Checked front bearings and they all seemed fine no strange wear/noise was indicated
  • I did a custom finish on the top triple tree the original was really nasty and I had a spare so I took it sanded the top with an orbital sander and then coated it in clear so it has a nice brushed finish. I did the same with the heal plates on the rear sets as well.
  • Freshly re-upholstered Corbin gunfighter seat. Compared to the original seat it is super comfortable and I think it is slightly lower than the stock seat).
  • New Renthal grips
  • New mirrors (I went with black because it fit the color of the bike much better than chrome)
  • New fuel hoses (I went with neon green tubing mainly because it's what I had but also it's what I always use just my trademark I guess lol.
  • There a lot of tiny little things I did as well like fixing the cracked cowl and missing tabs some wiring fixes etc etc etc.
  • Recently replaced the wire harness due to some butchering of the original one from the previous owner(s)
  • New DID X-rinig chain (525) sprockets are in good shape
  • Bike is currently registered inspected and being ridden infrequently but starts and runs with little input from the throttle or choke.
  • Currently has stock exhaust with Uni-pod intake filters and is tuned to match. I have the original smog and intake filter items (K&N intake filter in the box if you want them)
  • Recently converted handlebars to dirt style setup instead of clip on for more relaxed ride and options for better ergonomics (original bars included)
  • Currently have a set of soft Nelson Rigg saddle bags that I will include the harness has been modified to fit better on this bike with minimal rubbing and have easy on off characteristics
  • Bike currently has a GIVI flyscreen still fairing that is included. Pictures include it mounted and not mounted and it is extremely easy to mount and unmount.
  • Bike is available for local pickup and delivery around the North Texas area. I am flexible and willing to deliver so send me a message here if you have questions!!! Deliveries can only happen on the weekend days.
