Description

1973 Honda XL250 KO Motosport survivor in very nice condition. I purchased this bike from a family in northern Michigan a few years ago with the intention of having a bike from my past that I could ride from time to time. To ensure it would be reliable I went through the bike from stem to stern and completed the following:1) Rebuilt front forks with NOS seals wipers and Belray 10 weight fork oil2) New steering stem bearings3) NOS rear brake shoes4) NOS front and rear sprockets5) New DID chain6) Carburetor was gone through by Mike Nixon of "The Motorcycle Project"7) NOS air cleaner8) NOS throttle cables9) NOS intake manifold "o" ring10) NOS ignition coil wire cap points and condensor11) Timing set with timing light12) NOS front brake light switch13) New IRC tires tubes front and rear14) Spectro transmission fluid15) New shifter oil sealSince performing the work above I have put approximately 760 miles on the bike. It has never left me stranded....I even rode it (very slowly...I'm nearly 60) 50 miles through the Manistee National Forest. It brought back great memories. This motorcycle is 43 years old. It is extremely nice but not a museum piece. I have those too but this bike is an honest survivor that is fun to ride. It has its scratches chips fading etc but is in incredible condition given its age. Hard to find one of these that hasn't been beat to death by kids like me back in the day. The bike still has its original silver paint decals etc. The frame had been touched up here and there by the original owner trying to keep it new looking over the years. The tank does have a small dent I tried to capture in the pictures. The original DID rims are fantastic with not the usual tire iron (screwdriver) marks you see so often. The neutral indicator light is not functioning and I don't know why. I did replace the bulb and switch. The horn has been intermittent and the exhaust does have a couple of very small (maybe 1/8 inch?) holes in the bottom where they all seem to rust. Most I have seen are worse or have already been repaired. Bike comes with original toolkit and owners manual.I try hard to represent things I sell as I would want them represented to me. That said I would encourage you to view the bike in person or have a representative view it for you. Please ask any and all questions you may have. I will do my best to answer them quickly and accurately. Of course there is no warranty or guarantee implied written or otherwise. The bike is sold as-is where is. I will certainly work with your shipper but shipping is your responsibility.TERMS: $250.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT WITHIN 48 HOURS OF AUCTION CLOSE BY PAYPAL.
