1973 Honda CB350F Four

The Good

This 350 four is in good cosmetic condition. New paint on the tank and side covers in the original metalic black. The painter did an outstanding job. Rear tire good front tire is brand new. New drive chain new fuel filter/shut-off valve. New upholstery on the seat. Chrome is pretty good everywhere except on the rear wheel and parts of the exhaust. Even in those areas it doesn't look too bad. The header is an unusual configuration never seen one like it before. (Usually they are paired 1&2 on one side 3&4 on the other. This header pairs 1&3 on one side and 2&4 on the other.) New OE style mirrors. Clear title non-op status.

The Bad

1)Needs carb work: I've cleaned them and overhauled them with kits but it still seems to run rich and doesn't always idle right. I give up! Let someone who knows these carbs better than me deal with them. It does however run down the road okay and fires on all cylinders. 2) Starter doesn't engage most of the time just spins. I suspect there is a bad roller clutch or sprague causing this. However it does start with the kick starter just fine. 3) Clicking from first gear. I'm guessing a chipped tooth but didn't find anything in the oil or filter when I changed them... no metal at all oil was clean. The remaining gears have no odd noises so it's just first gear. /font>

I purchased this with the intent of a full restoration but have too many projects. The cosmetics are good but the starter trans and carbs need work. Although it is rideable I would NOT RECOMMEND riding it until further repairs are made. So bring a truck or trailer when you come to get it.
