Description

Restored by me the owner of KICKRacing a local Utah based motorcycle racing company that does engine work painting resto's and custom made carbon fiber and plastic motorcycle products. This bike was built over the last 3 years not for a customer but for personal use so it is extra clean and extra time and money were invested. I was never planning on selling this so it absolutly kills me to let this go. Over $10k and 250 hours have been put in this bike!History: This 1974 CL 360 was last registered in 1978 when I purchased it. It was garaged kept by the son of the father who passed away. It took me many years to find a bike that was this virgin no nuts or bolts were ever touched or stripped out. Just the oil was changed once before it sat for nearly 40 years. Instead of doing a factory resto I decided on doing a full race / show bike that was going to race primarily at Utah's Larry H Miller raceway vintage class / AHRMA. That is the direction I went on this and no shortcuts were taken.Engine:This is the engine that has the good cam chain tensioner there was a recall on certain vin #'s of the CL 360 not this bike. Because of the low miles and good compression and everything tested out fine leakdown etc the engine is still stock! Theres really no need to fix something that isnt broken. I have put about 200 miles on it since and it runs drives and handles great. All the engine accessories are all new new plugs plug caps wires points and condenser etc. Timed manually with a test light it may need to be retimed with a timing light to fine tune it do this at full advance. The starter was kept for convienience and makes starting the bike very easy. The bike starts cold with the choke on then once its running for a few seconds turn the choke off and it runs great like a factory bike but faster.Carbs were ultrasonically cleaned rebuild kits added and 115 jetsrus jet kit added. The 5 larger main jets improved the A/f mixture and the bike is tuned / synched and ready to go. We all know how these old carbs can be a pain to get right. New 5.5mm honda line and mini fuel filters were added this keeps the carbs clean. New cb350f honda petcock was purchased too.Mods and upgrades:I have done dozens of motorcycles before but were always for customers or buy and sell type deals this bike is extra clean. The bike was meticulously planned out on the computer and spreadsheets before work began and parts were ordered. First the fuel / gas tank being the focal point it was upgraded to a CB 350F tank and sandblasted urethane primered and interior sealed with silver por 15. You will not find any rust anywhere under the paint on this bike because it was all sandblasted frame included. All paint is a variety of black and only the highest quality primer and either powdercoat or 2 stage real paint was used. There is ZERO rattlecan / krylon used except for hightemp paint on the headers. The mufflers were powercoated.Every part possible on this bike was bought new down to the throttle cables to fuse block. A modern regulator / rec from my friend Sonreir plug and play for the gel battery. Lighting is all LED including the taillight and all lights in the speedo and tach. The taillight is very modern looking and has the brake running light and turn signals all in one. Having all led's allows the very small and light battery to keep up with the charging effectivley.Rims the rims are anodized black 2.15 aluminum deep wall from Mikesxs. They are nice and wide and are a perfect match for the 90/90 r18 and 90/ 110 r 18 tires. Having a wider rim helps improve the contact patch when doing aggressive cornering by spreading the rubber out accross the rim. The rim setup took a very long time to true and build they are perfect though and everything is new. The stock spokes and nipples were in such great shape that I used them. New tubes rim strips and valve caps. The brakes are also all new with race spec everything the inside of the drums were cleaned so well you could eat cereal out of them. Forks were rebuilt by racetech and every ball bearing was replaced. The steering stem bearings were replaced with tapered bearings wheel bearings were replaced. The fiberglass seat is custom from Airtech and the stick on 1/2" foam is too. The tail rests on a custom welded steel frame that attaches quickly via 3 bolts. The frame is a design I made that could probably hold a 400 pound man but has a few mm flex to it.Custom design:This bike is a work of art everything is aesthetically balanced and pleasing to the eye. People have said it looks so clean and proportioned that it looks like it just rolled out of the Honda factory. The gauges speedo / tach were lowered with brass rods onto a custom hand laid carbon fiber plate. This carbon fiber is a prototype for a product / kit I plan to sell in the next few weeks. The headlight ears were also custom and these were cut with our state of the art laser cutter. The ears are a blend of carbon fiber and ABS plastic and they look great. The rear sets are a custom made kit exactly for the 360 the brand is moto bits and they are fully adjustable. The hagon shocks were built by my good friend Dave Quinn and are specd out and are adjustable. This bike was taken down fully to the last nut and bolt. When the nut or bolt went back in they each recieved a application of copper anti seize coating which will prevent them from rusting or stripping out in the long years ahead this bike will see. This bike is is a is a full is a full 10 is a full 10 point restoration. If you are looking for a clean vintage bike you will not find one cleaner than this I should be asking more like $9k instead of $6750. Pictures and info:Pictures were taken yesterday May 31st in front on my home. I also made a quick video and uploaded to youtube but will make it so you can watch below.
