Description

HONDA 1974 XL350
For auction is my 1974 HONDA XL350. This bike is in nice original condition, ith only 5954 original miles. It starts easily, dles smoothly, nd operates properly. It is street legal and has a clear OHIO Title in my name.
I purchased this bike from a man in his his 60s. He has had it for many years. He had the motor rebuilt, nd put new tires on it. He gave me the following information: The rear tire has about 50 miles on it, nd the front tire has 0 miles on it. The motor has less than 200 miles on a complete rebuild. It has a new piston and rings, ew valves, nd I think new valve springs. I know the shop and the owner where the work was done, nd the owner confirmed the work. He thought he put valve springs in it as well, ut could not remember for sure. This rebuild was done at a cost of over $500. This work was done a few years ago, nd other than the few miles on the rebuilt motor, he bike has not been run since then. The bike was assumed not running when I bought it. This week I checked for spark, ut in some gas, shot of starting fluid, nd it fired on the first kick. I drained the tank, nd re-filled it with fresh gas. It re-started on the first kick and continued running.
The bike starts easily, uns quietly, nd idles smoothly. However, he acceleration is a little rough. I expect the carb needs a good cleaning after sitting those few years.
The tank is clean inside. The muffler is not dented (although the shield has some dings). The fenders are in good condition, nd do not appear to be broken or cracked. The rims and wheels are nice, ith no scrapes or gouges. The fork tubes are clean, ith no rust spots. The horn and all of the lights work properly, ncluding the neutral and hi-beam indicator lights. However, nly the high beam headlight works. The low beam is burnt out.
The tank has a couple of dents on the left side. The seat is nice, ut has a tear in the cover. It is also missing the seat "hold down" latch. The turn signals are missing, ut the wiring is intact. The tach cable is not correct (a little long), ut the tach works properly. The left side cover has a crack, ut does not extend to an edge (see photos). Somebody welded a bolt to the back of the swingarm, nd a nut at the top shock mount (see photos). The kickstand is not correct, nd a little short. However, have ordered another OEM kickstand and I will include it with the motorcycle.
Please review all of the photos and contact me if you have any additional questions.
I rode this bike for the first time today, ust to check out the transmission; everything operated smoothly. However, s stated previously, he carb does not deliver gas smoothly when accelerating. It did however, tart on the first kick again!
I just purchased this XL350 a few weeks ago. However, also purchased an XL600 the same week. I don't have time for both right now, o this one has to go.
This bike has a clear Ohio Title in my name.
