1978 Honda CB400TII Hawk II (Only 437 Original Miles!)

Up for auction is a classic 1978 Honda CB400TII Hawk II with only 437 original miles, nd the speedometer is working. It runs great, nd is in excellent original condition. This particular model of Hawk was the upgraded "sport" model which features an electric start, front disc brake and the Comstar wheels. This motorcycle was purchased from the second owner, ho acquired it in 2014 from the original owner, ho is a retired helicopter pilot in Kalispell, ontana. He rode it sparingly, s you can tell from the mileage and excellent overall condition, efore moving on to another bike. It was stored indoors for its entire life, hich is evident by how clean the chrome, aint, ngine and wheels are. The back story and mileage for the bike were also verified with the local Honda dealership in Kalispell, ho are very well acquainted with this Hawk and its original owner.
The Good: It runs great! Overall this is a stunning looking CB400, nd you don't see them with these kind of miles, r in this kind of original condition very often. From a short distance this Hawk looks virtually brand new - the paint and chrome absolutely pop - this really is a great looking motorcycle. This would make an awesome base for a cafe racer, r it would be a great bike to ride as is. It comes with the original title, hich is signed and notarized and will be left open. It runs very strong, nd shifts through the gears smoothly. It fired right up with a single push of the electric start, nd you can hear how great it sounds in the video below:

The chrome is immaculate, nd still has amazing overall patina. The tank is dent free. The seat looks virtually brand new, s in great original condition - it was also very comfortable to ride on. The wheels are also in excellent shape, nd it is sporting the original Yokohama tires, hich appear to be in very nice condition. Both side covers are in tact, nd in very nice overall shape. A brand new battery was just installed. The headlight and brake light are both working.
Things to Address:
There are a few very small paint chips on the tank, hich could easily be touched up. The original owner removed part of the chrome on both silencers, nd welded a couple of spots on the pipe that had rusted through (see pic). It looks like this could be fixed by purchasing two new silencers. It looks like it could use a new set of fork seals. You will want to have the carb floats adjusted, s there was a small amount of fuel dripping from the overflow after we had the bike running. There was a fairing installed at one time, nd it looks like they reversed the blinkers after taking it off, o you will want to look at the blinker wiring to make sure the turn signals function properly.
