1984 Honda Goldwing Interstate Gl1200I

Description

I bought this bike to take a trip with my son when he was home on leave from the USAF. I have put about 1,000 trouble free miles on it including a 600 mile trip through four states with no problems at all. It starts and runs well. It looks good for its age but it does have 30 years of normal wear and tear. The oil was clean when I got it and after 1,000 miles, t still is (see photo). I changed the gear lube in the final drive. The defects that I know of are as follows:

Front fork brace is cracked.

Front wheel has a dent in it.

The left trunk latch has a broken spring.

The left hand control has the rubber missing on the buttons.

One of the saddle bag tops was repainted and there are runs and overspray on the latches and some overspray on the seat.

The front tire tread is getting low. (The back tire still has a lot of tread on it.)

There are several cosmetic items which you can see in the photos.

None of these issues affected my enjoyment of the bike. I even got comments on my cross country trip of how good the bike looks, onsidering it’s age.

There is still a lot of summer left to enjoy riding on this bike!
