Here's a 1977 Honda CB750. It was customized in 1979 with high end period performance parts and custom paint. It had been sitting since 1980 until recently. This past winter I put about $1000 worth of work and parts in it at Eastside Speed Shop in Ellenville NY (I have receipts). The bike only has 9802 miles, 50 of which I've put on. It might go up a little before the end of the auction because I currently ride the bike. Here's a breakdown of the custom parts, ew parts, nd work done:
70's custom parts:
-Custom paint- murals and endless lines, igned in 1979
-Cafe fairing painted to match, urrently off the bike
-Rare Lester mag wheels
-Koni shocks
-Kerker 4 into 1 exhaust (has some holes underneath)
-Chromed/ finned motor side covers
New parts:
-Tires/ tubes
-Front/ rear brake pads/ shoes/ brake caliper rebuild kit
-Plugs/ wires
-Points
-Petcock/ fuel lines
-OEM carb rebuild kits
Work done:
-Cleaned/ rebuilt/ vacuum synched the carbs
-Valves adjusted
-Brakes rebuilt front/ rear + front caliper/ master cylinder
-Tank creamed
The bike starts right up and runs perfectly. I've had it over 100mph and it had plenty of power left, nlike all my other vintage bikes which feel like they're going to explode at 90. I think it is faster than my '02 Triumph Bonneville. I'm not sure if it has any motor work done but I wouldn't be surprised. The hardware on the bike is mostly untouched with the stock yellow paint on many of the bolt heads. The chrome is in good shape overall, ome dullness/ pitting in spots but not bad.
The bike could use fork seals, nd the clutch slips a bit if you grab a handfull of throttle at high RPM's. The Kerker pipe has some holes in the bottom but I do have a nice RC 4 into 1 that can go with the bike if the reserve is met, lthough it is from a '74 CB750 so I'm not sure if it'll fit. The cafe fairing pictured is included but off the bike. It looks like it was never put on but the stock front signals were cut off to fit the fairing. I have a transferable VT registration in my name, hich is as good as a title in any other state.
I have a truck and might be able to help with local delivery within reason. I am working a lot over the next month so I won't have time during business hours to drop the bike at a shipper, ut can assist if you set up shipping and have the shipper pick the bike up here in Kingston, Y.
Feel free to contact me about setting up a viewing for the bike. It is for sale locally so I do reserve the right to cancel the auction early if it sells. I might even be tempted into a trade for another vintage bike, specially XS650's, B/ CL450's, riumphs, ther Sportsters, hovelhead frame/ motor/ projects, intage chopper parts...
A $500 paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of the auction's end, nd the rest in cash upon pick up. I'd like the bike picked up within a week. I need the room in my garage.
Thanks for looking and feel free to ask questions!
