1982 Honda CR480r motocross bike

This motorcycle is a survivor from the golden age of motocross in the 80’s. The bike was restored to be a rider, ot a garage queen. Over the past 6 years I have gathered original and aftermarket parts to put this bike back into original shape. The 82 CR480r was one of the top bikes during its era. It was light (236 lbs. with 1 gallon of gas) and has heaps of power. Not for beginners.

This particular example has been rebuilt from top to bottom. The engine was rebuilt with a new 90mm Wiseco piston and rings. The main bearings and seals were replaced, s well as all transmission bearings. All gaskets were replaced as well. The transmission was rebuilt using a combination of parts from several transmissions. It has Boyesen reeds, stock carb, &N filter in a stock airbox and stock exhaust. The engine has approximately 2 hours of run time on it. I have an additional expansion chamber that goes with the bike. The extra pipe is a “Krause Cannon”.

The forks were flushed and cleaned and reassembled. The seals are not leaking, ut may need attention or replacement in the next few months. It has almost new Kenda Carlsbad tires on it, 0/100-21 in front and 120/100-18 in the rear. The wheel bearings are new, ront and rear. The swingarm bearings are also new. It has stock chain wheels and sliders. The sprockets and chains are in great shape. I also have wide foot pegs on the bike.

The fenders and side panels are Maier and it has a new gripper seat cover. All cables were replaced with new Motion Pro Cables. Levers are period correct shorty power levers. Aluminum handle bars.

There is no title for the bike, s it is off road and did not require a title during its day. I will provide a bill of sale. The mileage required by EBay is just a number, ince there is no odometer on a MX bike.

The bike is sold as is, ithout warranty. It is a 33 year old motocross bike, o if you buy it be aware that these bikes require regular maintenance. I am including documentation including a Clymer service manual. The sale also includes the extra pipe and some miscellaneous left over parts as shown in the photos.
