Description

Purchased from long time owner 3 years ago. It was running but needed TLC. Repainted, lose to the original "Antares" red. No cracks in bodywork. I installed a new battery this year, ew tires last year, ew seat cover, ork seals, All Balls" steering head bearings, rake hoses, aliper and master kits, ew EBC brake pads in all 3 calipers, ew clutch cable, verhauled the carbs using a "Randaaks" complete kit, as tank cleaned andcompletely rust-free inside. I'm running a second fuel filter and it is spotless. The carbs stay balanced, t requires full choke to start from cold but warms quickly and runs smooth and strong once warmed. Valves adjusted, ew timing belts and genuine Honda coolant. It doesn't leak anything and uses little oil. Pulls from 1000 rpm without hesitation and will run all day at 90 mph if you can stand the wind. The brakes are strong, he gauges work, ncluding the fuel gauge. Its driven daily when the weather is good. I did the starter modification, unning an extra ground strap to the brush plate, t spins quickly even when hot. Doesn't overheat, he cooling fan works. I replaced battery and solenoid wiring, he electrics all work. Two small issues, he neutral light stays on dimly, here is a relatively easy fix for that, nd there is a small crack in one of the engine mounts that has been there for 35+ years and hasn't grown at all. The throttle cables and grips are new. The previous owner installed "Progressive" rear springs and the mufflers. They look like glass packs or tractor mufflers but sound great and don't look too out of place. There is a pin stripe kit available on-line, didn't install it because I don't like pin-stripes. I've driven it about 3500 trouble-free miles and wouldn't hesitate to jump on it and ride to either coast. I'm in Ottawa, 5 minutes north of Ogdensburg New York. The 1977 model was the last for the laced wheels. Its fun to drive, eavy but fast, nd it never fails to attract attention. Even the original kick-starter lever is secured with the proper strap under the right faux-tank pod and it has the glove box tray under the top cover for carrying wallet, hone, apers etc. The chrome is pretty good, he front fender has some small pitting but otherwise isshiny. None of the plastic lenses are broken, nbsp;Selling as I have a new "project" and limited space in the garage.
