1976 Honda Goldwing LTD GL1000 ~BUNDLE~ ONE OWNER!

Got this bike from Estate sale.

The Original owner passed away and the bike transferred title name to his wife.

Title still in Wife's name and I did not transfer title to myself. ~Unless the buyer prefers me to do so. we can talk about that~

Runs and rides nice. shifts as it should. Perrrr's like a kitten!

What I would do to the bike!

- Right control (Engine Start) was replaced by orig. owner and does work every time. but I notice engine turns over on "Stop" position but does not start in that position. That seemed odd to me. I would take it to a Honda dealer and have it looked at. But want to be clear that it works just fine as is.

- Throttle has a small quick stall in it when you first crank it. not sure if that is just age on the bike or if it needs to be tightened? However you can see this on the cold start video provide that it is so small. you may not notice until I pointed it out.

- Powder Coat Orig. Mufflers and put them on. I can do that for 150. 00 extra btw.

And that is it. I rode it for 4 weeks and I would love to keep it. but I am unable to.

1976 GL1000 LTD

In 1976 during the second year of the 1000cc Gold Wing. Honda released a Limited Edition which was called a GL1000LTD'76

It was available in only one color: Custom Candy Brown

The wheel rims were gold anodized and the spokes were plated a gold color

All emblems and striping were gold

The Radiator shroud was chrome plated and the saddle was dual contoured like the 1977 wing

A special tool kit with a leather type bag

The frame serial number began GL1-2035001 while the engine serial number began GL1E-2033474

In 1976. Honda sold a limited run of special GL1000s. as the GL1000 LTD. The LTD wasn't any different mechanically from the standard GL1000's. It featured gold pin striping. special LTD side cover badges. a chromed radiator guard and screen. a quilt patterned seat. gold anodized spoke wheels. a gold stamped GL1000 owners manual. and a leather key case. The LTD's fender is also slightly flared.

The VIN will start with GL1-2 and the engine number will start with GL1E-2. The 2 is for the second year of production for both. -1 for '75. -2 for '76 and so on. This is only for the GL1000. It changes for the 1100. and again for the 1200.

I was told that shocks were replaced in late 80's or early 90's for a better ride. All Belts and Chains were replaced at 35. 00 miles. The owner hit a bird on the freeway in the mid 90's and cracked the windshield and never replaced it with an original shield. it's a flimsy Plexiglas.

The tires are New and still have the new nubby on them for the front and the rear tire is one Wisconsin summer old with 600 miles on it.

Easy Restore for those that want to. but ride it the way it is!

My biggest concern is the SHIPPING! I never shipped (or helped anyone ship) anything this big on ebay and this bike has all the Original parts you see in the picture! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE TO GET BIKE AND ALL PARTS TO YOU!! I would prefer you pick this bike up and save yourself some $$ if your close enough.
