Description

1983 Honda NCZ 50 Motocompo

1983 Honda Motocompo for sale.Cosmetic restoration a couple years ago on low usage bike, as a minor chip or two on paint but, ut still in excellent condition. Quite rare bike, ll lights work (although you will need battery) The bike doesn't need a battery to start. Oil injection is fully functional, ormally starts in one or two kicks. However I have the bike serviced (at the shop now) by a professional 2-stroke mechanic before the bike is released to a new owner. Service will included 2 (two) new tire tubes, resh from Japan.

Completely street legal, ut never titled. Bill of Sale only! Never figured there was a point as the cops would probably always stop you riding this mini down the street. I have original owners manual and English version of service manual that goes with the bike. Don't have a Honda JDM city, ut fits very nicely in back seat of standard pickup. So going to the Pits, amping, ilots or bike show is a easy Do! But better get ready to talk a lot, ot many folks are familiar with the model. And.... Women think it is very, ery cute... better than a puppy, nd much cleaner. Haha So bottom line,

Rare, ollectable, ortable, nd Cute... Can't lose on this one.

The Story

The Honda Motocompo was designed and marketed as a scooter which could be easily stowed in the rear of a sub-compact car, nabling the owner an extra degree of freedom by taking his bike along for the ride. Sold from 1981-1983, his cute oddity was available in Japan only and was a sales disappointment for Honda. It has, f course, ecome a cult favorite.

While the Motocompo could be taken along inside any number of vehicles, he first generation Honda City (Civic) was designed specifically to hold the scooter. While the City was a success, nd regarded as groundbreaking in it’s relatively abundant interior space for a sub-compact, he Motocompo did not do as well. Honda killed the bike after three years.

The Motocompo was powered by an air-cooled 49cc 2-stroke motor, ood for 2.5 horsepower @5000 RPM and 3 ft-lbs of torque. There’s a single-speed automatic clutch transmission and ignition is provided via kick-start. The exhaust pipe is hidden behind one of the flat side panels, reserving the bike’s sleek rectangular design. The scooter can go for well over 100 miles per liter, ith some reports of 120. Whether those would be a comfortable 120 miles is unclear, hough perhaps unlikely.

The seat, andlebars and pegs are made to retract into the body, eaving a rectangular box on wheels. Under the black horizontal body trim are a set of hooks. These matched a set of restraining straps mounted in the trunk area of the Honda City. There is also a set ofhandles to allow hoisting into the hatch. However, t over 90 pounds stowing in or removing from the boot requires a strong back. Will at least better than a 65 year old bad back..:)
