Description

Honda CL77 305 Scrambler with less than 9,000 miles
In the early to mid 60s Honda started the move to larger displacement motorcycles into the US market. The Superhawks, reams, nd Scramblers were very successful for Honda and are now icons of the 1960s motorcycle era. The Scrambler model was available in both 250cc and 305cc models with few options. The bikes were all silver with black frames or silver with red frames until 1967 when several candy colors were available. TheCL77 series were replaced in 1968by newly designed CL350 seriesthat wassold through the 70s and are also very sought after by enthusiasts and collectors. The bike listed in this auction has been in my family since 1968. It was completely disassembled and rebuilt in 2014. During this process all original parts were retained including common items that are missing or usually swapped out for reproduction items. The only items not original Honda are the handle bars (originals are included with auction, ut will need to be straightened), eat cover (exact reproduction), ires, irrors, ome cables. Tail light is original but the bracket is from a Superhawk. Exhaust is original to the bike but was rechromed along with the brake pedal. Proper and original hardware was reused everywhere possible. Wheels are the correct original channeled style with some pitting as expected on an original set. Tank, enders, ide covers are in great condition and have not been cut or trimmed. Grab bar, hocks, heels, nd headlight bezel are original chrome. Tank pads, ork gators, ear shocks, peedometer, re all original. The bike has been primarily used as a show piece in my shop and has only been ridden approximately 5 miles since the rebuild. The engine will still need to go through a break in period and minor adjustments (idle, ixture, tc) may need to be made as the rings break in. Engine has new rings, ut is still STD bore. All new gaskets and seals were used in the rebuild. Carburetors were rebuilt and a new battery has been installed. Spark plugs and wires were replaced.
The bike is a bright candy red (originally silver). I like the red frame bikes, ut it is much harder to change the frame color if I decided to put it back to the stock black. The bike was an original black frame bike so I chose to paint the tank, enders, ide covers red instead of the frame. It is beautiful and gets compliments constantly. Not a hard change to paint it back silver if you should decide to go that way. Painted fenders were correct for this bike. Chrome fenders were used on the later model bikes. Everything functions as it should with the exception of the horn.
Extras include original handlebars, ew speedometer seat, ill Silver manuals.
Please look at the pictures carefully and ask questions. This is an exceptional bike but is a50 year old motorcycle and should be treated as such. It is not perfect. This is not for someone without mechanical ability or someone needing a daily rider. It takes knowledge and patience to keep these older bikes functional. I really hopethe CL77is added to someone's collection and the history preserved.
The State of Georgia does not require a title for older motorcycles. The bike will be sold with a currentGeorgia registration. I will provide a copy of the registration and a copy of the police inspection report (stolen vehicle check). You will need to check with your local tag office about registration, he laws are different in every state.
$500.00 is due at end of auction remainder is due in cash at pick up within 7 days. I can hold the bike longer if required, ut full payment will have to be received. You can pay balance by Paypal, ut you will have to pay the 3% fees. I will not release the bike to a transportation provider until it is paid in full no matter the situation.
