Sadly, 'm putting my 1989 Honda NX125 up for sale. I bought this bike used in 1990 and when my girlfriend started riding it two summers ago, don't think it had even 2,000 miles on it! As you can probably see, he bike itself is in beautiful shape, espite some minor fading and minor surface rust here and there (the exhaust could use a repaint and the handlebar could use a once-over with some 000 steel wool). I replaced the drive chain last season with an RK Racing chain and both sets of front and rear brake shoes where replaced with official Honda parts. At some point over the last two years, put a +1 sprocket on the front, n order to get more top speed out of it, ut the original front sprocket is still in my possession and will be included with the sale. The choke cable housing is broken, ut it has been rigged to work and work well (an OEM replacement cable can no longer be obtained). It's also a little cold-blooded (it has been since I bought it), o I affixed a nice looking chrome knob onto the idle speed screw, o the idle can be turned up by hand - even while wearing heavy gloves. The starting procedure is a little "involved," but it always starts and runs like a champ. The tires are original but are like new, ith no signs of weather checking and very little signs of wear. This bike would make an excellent in-town commuter and anyone should be proud to own it. It would also make a great starter bike for your son or daughter (or yourself) or it could be used as a reliable trail bike.
I only have one key for the bike and there is NO owner's manual. The OEM tool kit is also missing (though the storage container attached to the bike is intact).
The basket you see in the pictures is attached with heavy zip-ties and can be removed easily at any time. If you don't want it, can remove it before shipping or transporting the bike.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions. I'm willing to help out with transportation of the bike, hether that means getting it to a professional shipping company or delivering it part-way or all the way to you and your residence. You would be responsible for any and all costs associated with doing so. A non-refundable $500 deposit will be required before I make any arrangements with you. Full payment will be due upon delivery. If you are using a professional shipping company, he entire purchase price must be received by me before I will release the bike and title.
