1978 Honda CX500 MotorcycleHonda's first water cooled bike
I'm no longer able to ride due to an injury from an auto accident soafter much contemplation, must part with it.I purchased the bike in 2011 from the original owner with the plans of restoring it.I put about 400 miles on it riding 40 miles round trip to work before parking it due to the tires being in bad shape. The tires currently on it are original. It has been parked in the garage & according to the previous owner, t always has been parked inside. It ran & handled great, ore get up & go then I imagined for a bike this size. It started right away every time &the brakes are good.I last rode it in 2012, would start it (would start right away every time) about twice a monthup until Feb of 2014. I have attempted to get it started with no luck but will continue to try. It turns over well, as good compression, ounds like it's not getting enough fuel. Could be just something as simple as sparkplugs. I believe the tank needs cleaned out. CONDITION: For the most part, verything is original. Front fender is chrome, ear fender is maroon, auge cluster & all covers are black tank is black with silver flames (may have been repainted. Seatis in greatcondition. All lights, orn & instruments are in good working condition, trong electric starter. Mufflers are in good working & visual condition (no rust or carbon buildup).
