1997 Honda XR250R

For sale is a special 1997 Honda XR250R. This XR was built by IMS Racing in California. I bought this off of a friend of the mechanic who worked at IMS.

It has a clean California title and is registered for street use in California.

This bike was taken to Japan and was featured in a Japanese dirtbike magazine on the front cover with a short article about the bike and it’s mods(magazine included). Bike does need some motor work to be %100 but runs fine as is and I have no doubt it has plenty of life left. Best bet would be to put a new top end in and have the bike run for another 18 years. This bike is heavily modified and a great setup. I am selling due to getting a new trials bike.

-there is some oil weeping out by the head gasket

-some smoking upon startup. Honda dealer said it’s the valve guide seals. This is a common problem and easily fixed.

Bike pulls strong and has plenty of life left.

California street legal(with CA street title) but wires are not hooked up(lights do not currently work)

Shipping:

I am willing to ship the bike within the lower 48. I recommend a motorcycle specific shipping company or uship. Typically the costs are anywhere from $300 on the low end to about $700 on the upper end.

I can personally deliver the bike for a fee(fee depends on location-message me and let me know where you are located and I can give you a price). It should be cheaper than a company unless you get lucky and find a shipper for around $300. If I deliver the bike, will require transportation costs to be paid before I leave.

Payment:

I require a $500 non refundable deposit via ebay/paypal at the end of auction/accepted deal.

The balance is to be paid via cash in person(if I drop off the bike), heck, oney order, ank transfer. Bike nor title will be released until payment is clear.(if paying by check/mo)
