Description

Anyway, from above), y gorgeous CB400F needs to be-reassembled as you can determine by the photos. Still, ot bad, AAAYYYY better than a fullrestoration. All of the parts that you see pictured in groups have been cleaned, olished, etailed, lear coated, hrink wrapped etc.All the rubber bits have Armour All'd and kept in ZipLocks, he instruments are perfect, he wiring loom needs to be re-taped in places, ut otherwise excellent. The rear fender andtwilight are PERFECT, s new.Yes, hose are the ORIGINAL header pipes,no rust, eed alittle chrome polish, ery little.Themuffler is an aftermarket SITO pipe, ade in Italy and perfectly finished withshow quality chrome. The stock muffler is shown with it, oth included. (The SITO is way better!)Look closely at thecondition of theswitches (re-built), ork tubes and legs, rake disc, swing arm, hainguard, heels, ims, tc. It's that nice. Those are S&W shocks, don't have the stockers, nd don't care, hey suck!Of course the first thing that I did to this 1977 model is to retro-fit the '75, 76 "rear set" pegs, nd a "normal" set of 3" rise Superbike bars. The '77 is goofy looking, nd riding, ll you 400F guys know that!
Lets' getto the bad stuff!
The gorgeous, riginal painttank has a small ding in it, photographed) is very hard to see, nd MIGHT be pulled out by a "dentless repair" guy..?I'm not sure, ut it's there. The rest of the paint looks five years old. Also, oth side covers look good, o cracks, ut will need to be clear coated.
Theair box and headlight shell are stripped, nd need to be re-painted as you wish. The headlight shell isprimer'd and perfect.
The seat is almost perfect, nine out of ten, nd original!
It has NEVER had Ethanol gas in it, ut the carbs will need to be cleaned etc. All the cables are in great shape!
There is a small "abrasion" on the very left tip of the front fender (not a ding), nd will be very hard to spot unless I told you, hich I did.
Last time I rode it, bout 15 years ago, t ranflawlessly, It's a Honda!) andeverything worked perfectly.
The bike has NEVER NOT been stored in my house, n the living room, n the California High Desert, here the word "rust" is a four letter word..which it is.
That's all I can think of for now.
I have a starting bid of $2K on it,which I think is very reasonable. If you want a beautiful dry survivor to finish as you like, ere is a great chance to get something for a veryreasonable price (Maybe!), nd finish it as you like. All of you Japanese Classic bikefreaks know that the 400 Fours are getting more expensive in a big hurry, hree years from now you will kick yourself in the ass for not getting one when you could.
I can arrange insured, onded, nd enclosed delivery in the 48 states for $475.00, aybe less in the West. I can deliver the bike in SoCal for $100.00 to cover my gas.
Inspections are WELCOME!!
Or, all me anytimeuntil midnight at 760-242-3490.
Good luck to all.
