Very Rare (Early) Honda Dream CA 72! Excellent motorcycle, uns and rides excellent, 1,033 original miles. Everything on the bike works as it should, xcept the electric start. It will work sometimes and then it won't, asn't been a big issue as the motorcycle starts on the first kick just about every time. I just haven't been able to figure that one issue out. This old Honda attracts a crowd every time it's on the streets!
Motor was rebuilt using all original Honda parts last Christmas. The bike has about 20 miles since and there are NO leaks and the Honda runs very strong. I took it out today and it cruised beautifully at 55 mph. Carburetor and starter were also rebuilt at the same time as the motor. Everything mechanical has been serviced on the Honda, ncluding clutch, rakes and shocks. The gas was cleaned and sealed and the petcock was rebuilt.
The paint on the Honda is nice, ot a show bike finish, ut still very nice. I restore antique and classic cars, o I am very picky when it comes to fit and finish. It's an older lacquer paint job and it shines beautifully. When I purchased the bike, thought it was the original paint, ut after cleaning all the years of dust off the Honda, t is definitely a respray. Not an amateur job, ut not show quality either. There is one minor scratch on the front "driver side" fender. I tried to show in one of the pictures, ut it's not that noticeable.
Somewhere along the way the motorcycle must have been dumped on the passenger side, s the exhaust pipe and starter switch assembly have a little road rash. Neither have any affect on the operation of the bike and unless pointed out, re not very noticeable. None of the original chrome has been re-chromed because they are in such beautiful original shape. The only items that have been re-chromed are the highly desirable and equally rare optional crash bar and the luggage racks.
The original Honda leather seat is in exceptional condition, inus two very minor imperfections, epicted in the photos as well. The speedometer glass looks cloudy in the photo, ut it is crystal clear. I tried taking a dozen shots and between the sum and flash, just couldn't get a clear shot of the speedo.
The only non original Honda parts on the motorcycle are the turn signals, hich can be easily removed and the tires are new wide whites with many miles of tread on them. I have a box full of extra parts, s well the original manual and a brand new original battery (just add acid).
Please call (908) 770-8489 or message me on eBay with any questions. The motorcycle is located in central NJ and I would welcome anyone to come and inspect it in person. These CA 72's do not come around often and the early models are even more rare. Good luck bidding!
