Description

Here is a solid restoration on a 1975 Honda XL125. Tank, enders, nd side covers are painted in the correct Honda colors (two coats base and three coats clear) followed by new side cover and tank decals. The engine has just over 2700 original miles and runs like new. Every gasket on this bike is tight - no drips, rops, eeping or weeping of any kind anywhere. The seat is perfect and the side covers are mint originals - no cracks, tress marks or previous repairs. The chrome is excellent with no rust or significant blemishes. The carburetor was cleaned and rebuilt. Most of the cables are new NOS as are many of the rubber components. There are original Bridgeston Trail Wing-5 street/trail tires in excellent condition. All electrical components (signals, orn, auges, ights, witches, tc) work like new. The bike has the original owners manual and complete tool kit in NOS condition. It is not a museum-level restoration but it is a very nice. There are flaws or areas that I think could be better and they are:
- Exhaust system as been repaired. Several rust areas were removed and new metal welded in. It is a quality repair but you can see some blemished under the paint.
- some minor scratches on wheel rims
- some paint wear on frame
- Gauges have some fading on dials
- Exhaust guard is from a 1974 model (black painted) whereas the 75 model was the same guard but chromed (can't find a 75 chrome guard anywhere).
This is a fine restoration on a popular bike that appreciates in value every year. Strangers routinely point, tare or stop to ask questions. This is fun bike to ride (plus can get 80 MPG) and it absolutely appreciates in value every year - a combination you can't go wrong with (many restored SL and XL bikes have doubled in the past ten years and that trend will continue as they become more and more scarce). If interested please e-mail or call "Steve" at (509) 551- nine two 38. I can deliver to the Seattle/Portland area provided the bike sells at reserve or better. Title is clear, n my name, nd bike has current plates/tags. For those of you that recognize the photo backdrop then you have seen my past work which is a combination of mid-level to extreme anal, oncourse correct restorations (I'm working on a 73 XL175 that fits the latter description if you're interested). Thanks and don'thesitate to ask if you have any questions or just like to talk XL!
